I didn't remember how exhausted Shane looked in the last quarter of that fight. Shane looked full of energy against Margo, but the fight was over in the 9th and for most of it Shane was well in control. Are we all overlooking the effect of Mosley's age, based on the sensational performance vs Margo??? He really did look tired vs Cotto, and I feel sure that Floyd will be faster and stronger than Miguel was down the stretch. Thoughts and opinions from Sugar Shane fans please... :good
Cotto was tired too. That was a great fight but Cotto did show he was the better fighter on that night.
Yeah the commentator actually made a comment about it in round 4 or 5 when Shane was breathing with his mouth open.
I would tend to agree with you but MANY people feel that if Mosley hadn't taken the 11th round off, eh would have drawn or possibly won the fight.
Others actually feel he won the fight... I personally believe Mosley clearly won rds 3,5,7,9,10 and 12. Draw. Go figure.
Cotto made Mosley miss a lot though and fighting a guy you can find easy like Margarito doesnt take as much from you as when your missing more, add that to the Cotto fight was a very intense chess match and i think its pretty reasonable to see why Mosley was more tired in the Cotto fight then the Margarito fight. But he still was the one pressing the fight in the championship rounds so i dont think his stamina is really an issue.
shane had an operation on his nose after this fight to help him breath alot easier he has said this has helped alot
I wouldn't go as far as to call it a "stamina issue." Hmmm, 12th round of a title fight against a pre-Margarito Cotto, who essentially hopped on his bicycle after seeing how much his opponent had left. I've never heard a guy coming forward, trying to chase a guy down, throwing punches as having a stamina issue. If anything, Mosley had a "cutting off the ring issue."
shane always got great conditioning. he might be mentally exhausted too against cotto. sometimes when u r fustrated, you tend to fight with less focus
