The next six weeks will be very good for boxing , the best three fighters in the world will be performing .

    This is my breakdown

    13 March 2010

    Pacquiaou vs Clottey

On the night manny weights 150lbs, Clottey weights 165.

First round clottey is nervous and hesitant , Manny is relaxed , and the speed difference is very clear. Clottey shows some good defence but now realises he is in there with arguably the best fighter in the world.

Round after round clottey stalks but doesnt throught enough , whil manny is seeing an ever increasing bigger target, the fights at Feather against the great mexicans were alot quicker and harder.

Come the 6th round Clottey hasnt won a round and is about 20% connect, while Manny is in the high 40's.

Round 7 sees Clottey being backed up for the first time in the fight , and like Hatton doesnt know how to go backwards , especially against a smaller man.

Round 8 is the final round , Clottey very brave , has taken too much damage and his corner decide he has done enough and rests on his stool.

    1st May 2010

    Mayweather vs Mosley

One the night Floyd weights 149 , Shane was 157.

Round one Shane comes out the agressor , and even though he is the bigger man , their isnt much in it, Floyds footwork is as good as ever , its a battle of the Jabs , with both men also trying to go to the body, not too much action an even round.

Round two , Floyd has had a look and is now looking to set traps , dipping low and looking for the straight right that was so effective action Hatton , but Shane is quicker than Hatton and these punches are missing. Shane is then able to counter with quick left hooks to the body.

Round three Floyd the most intelligent boxer in the world , gets back behind the jab and is now looking to hook off it too, which throws Shane off a little , Shane still looking for the left hook to the body is losing the Jab battle , and is looking for power punches.

Rounds 4 - 8 continue with floyd using the Jab , left hook up top. Shane is always competitve but is behind by 6 - 2.

Rounds 9 -10 Floyd usually excelerates aways from fighters with his fitness , Judah , Hatton Oscar , all slowed considerably in these rounds, but not Shane , his punches are getting stronger , and he is now landing hard shots .

Floyd has a great chin and is taking these shots well , but at the wrong time in the fight , Shane is growing in confidence and is sensing he can stop floyd.

Come the 11th floyd is up by two , but has been in a fight , this is where the mayweather class comes back , he is not running but fights off the back foot , making Shane look more agressive than he actually is , but all the punches that count come from floyd.

Final round , floyd does the same as the 11th , pots shots , stays out of trouble , wins by margins of 116 - 112 , there is a mixed reaction as many believe shane did enough , but floyd was never behind on the cards , maybe except for the first.

Stats for thr fight Floyd 46% land , Shane 27% , but Shane throws marginally more.

Manny is then classed as the number 1 fighter on the planet , but floyd was in a much harder fight.

I think Manny fails to hurt Clottey, but wins a decision, getting tagged by lead right hands now and then going through the fight.

I hope Mosley wins but I think Floyd wins a razor sharp decision, getting on his bike the first 3-4 rounds and the last 2 rounds.

So all in all, I think both will struggle.

He landed at a 59% rate against Marquez, at a 43% rate against Hoya and Baldo, and at a 46% rate against Judah. He landed only 39% against Hatton. 46% isn't out of the question considering his accuracy and relatively low punch output.

Impressive stat against Judah, but Mosley is quite a different fighter than Marquez and Baldomir.

It is true that Floyd averages around 450-500 punches for 12 rounds.

How someone come up with specific numbers and what'll happen in specific rounds is beyond me, nobody can predict such things. I will say though that I think Clottey will fade and turn to whats comfortable, the turtle shell.. and stay there for the remaining 3-4 rounds.

I agree with this. My only point is that it's well within the realm of possiblity for Floyd to land at a 46% clip given his history. And it's not like Shane is a good defensive fighter.

My first live fight was Ray Leonard vs Duran III ringside , so you can cut that newbie lark out , and its clear you were shown your ass when I said 46% , yes it a number but with your WTF it was clear you didnt think anyone had hit that number when Mayweather is always around there.
