Marquez belongs at lightweight. But he should have accept the Khan fight cause if he wins, he would make history as the only mexican fighter to win titles in 4 different weight class.

The problem with Valero is that he is'nt really a big payday.
Its a big fight for boxing fans, but not a big payday for JMM.

Valero imo needs to face someone of note.......maybe a Malignaggi, Juan Diaz, or a Katsidis maybe.

Valero needs to face a recogizeable name and win spectacularly.
Then a JMM fight becomes big.

If Marquez gets a big payday fighting Valero, I'm all for it.

Remember guys, when a fighter is older... like JMM or Roy jones, you never know how bulking up to a weight class and them losing all that mass and coming down is going to effect them. I dont think JMM should fight a young hungry fight like alexander, bradley or valero... He should fight somone like hatton

Well Valero unless JMM ko's him. You have to really take in consideration how the weight will effect JMM especially at his older age. His safest bet is to just retire and enjoy his health, another fight at whatever weight would be too risky.

The question should be Marquez quickly recovers if he suffer knockdowns from Valero? :D Just kidding, JMM will sure own Edwin Valero at 135.

it's amazing the no faith people have in valero.

when he starts getting more of that showtime exposure people will come around

I would take Valero. It would look a bit like the two Pacquiao fights, but I don't think Marquez would survive at this stage of his career.

If the weight swings aren't an issue I have Juan Manuel Marquez by sixth round ko.

Or if he learns how to close his mouth while approaching an opponent...that'll be a good start too.
