I was watching the showtime broadcast for Clottey V Corrales today, and on there on the night weigh in, they had Clottey weighing in at 170 Ib's and that was 3 years ago, so surely its reasonable to say that on saturday night Clottey could be weighing at anywhere between 175 - 180 Ib's, thats a huge advantage.

I still think Pacquiao wins this fight, but if it gets in to the later rounds which is most likely to happen, its gonna be interesting to see if it that weight will be a factor.

    what you guys think.

Clottey weighed 155 on fight night against Judah. His trainer/handwrapper/cutman says he'll be no more thatn 155lbs. on fight night for this fight. I don't think Clottey's size should pose much of a problem to Pacquiao.

I just don't see how a person can put so much weight on in a short period of time!

Ok, lets say Clottey weighs 170lbs at fight time, that's 23lbs in a space of 30 hours say! Even if he's dehydrated, cut a lot of water weight, surely a human being would feel ill putting on so much weight in such a short period!

If he does it will only hidner his performance, it will slow him down!

Yeah, true. As opposed to going into the ring dehydrated, on a completely empty-stomach, and some way below his natural weight. That would be much healthier.

Rofl dude ,that 170 was with clothes..... and they were fighting in catchweight above welterweight limit. it'd be very unhealthy to put up 30 lbs in 24 hours , he could probably even die. Most likely he wont even weigh above Middleweight limit.

Not sure what to make of it though

He weighed in at 149 for the Chico fight, then weighed 170 (with all his clothes on) on fight night.

He's a huge welter but saying he's going to weigh over 175 is ridiculous. Just look at his fight-night weights since then. He might put on a lot of weight but not near what you're suggesting.

#1 - Clottey has appalling stamina, and Pacquiao has excellent stamina. Therefore it will not be interesting if it goes into the latter rounds, because Pacquiao will be beating down Clottey even worse than the earlier rounds.
#2 - He will not be at 175-180 on fight night.

That's what I'm laughing at. Problem?

I'm only stating what the showtime weigh in had him weighing on fight night, I think that its a dangerous thing to be doing if true but at the same time its a big advantage if true.

I don't see why everyones getting all worked up about it, you'd think I'd insulted someone

He probably mentioned the 155 limit because of something that Pacs team put in the contract....
