The difference between these 3 and clottey is that...

all three suffered major losses that took away that warrior instinct out of them... Hatton & Cotto suffered career changing losses so when the deck was stacked against them instead of fighting back like a warrior they folded

Oscars time was just up the combination of the timing & the weight was a recipe for disaster.

Now Clottey on the other hand... you could make a case that he is undefeated and in his 1 loss that was clear (margarito) he "supposedly" had a major injury.

My point is... not that he is going to win but his confidence & belief in self should be high enough where when things get rough he won't pack it in... not only that but I really think that he believes that manny is not strong enough to interrupt him (clottey) in one of his HBO interview's he said he is excited to get in the ring with pacquioa to see if the myth of his power is true...

I think by this alone it will make the fight a lot more competitive than a lot of people are giving credit for....

It will be so one sided, I think Manny should stop him, just from outclassing him Clottey's corner throw the towel in 9 in.

I don't think clottey is going to win.... my prediction since day 1 has been this

clottey will use his guard and size to walk pacquio down accompanied with a jab... pac will use his flurries to score but will never really do any true damage and clottey will do his best to counter after flurries are over...

I think clottey is going to do a lot of damage to pacqiuoa but pac is going to pull out a decision where alot of people are giving clottey HUGE props and saying pacquiao got beat up.... but still won

all i'm saying is that clottey will be more game for this fight than pacman's last 4 opponents... this guy has never truly lost or been challenged... i mean if you look at the cotto fight.... you could make a case to say that fight was easy for clottey & that he won....

Clottey is a natural orthodox boxer who likes the straight right hand.

There is no "supposedly" about it. He was murdering margo with his left hand. Look at post fight pictures of margo after that fight. All of a sudden, he stopped throwing his left hand (his best hand). If he was dominating a fight with his best hand, gets hurt, then stops throwing it, that s an injury my friend. And some people still scored that fight for clottey. And at this time, margo was the 'most feared welter'. remember that? If clottey can take a plaster loaded margo all night, he sure as hell can take pacman's shots. Do i think joshua is going to win? I think this is going to be a very close, hard fought, great match. Lets all just be glad we got the welter division that we have today.

Clottey STILL has the most underrated defense. He is very good at deflecting shots. Manny is not going to knock him out. However, since both guys are Top Rank, and with pacman making the money he is now, I wonder what kind of 'side' deals with bob might be going on. Cause lets face it, a win for pacman assures maybe another 10 mil his next fight.

And he throws his right hand pretty nicely. Ask Cotto. He ate plenty of them.

Loosing doesn't always take your warrior instinct out of you. But I agree it will be more competitve early.....kind of like it was for Cotto. But as the fight progresses Manny will get better and Josh will begin to slow. I see Manny winning a clear cut UD which will be semi competitive early on.

common neck, of course ate a lot of them he couldn't see. clottey strength is overrated. he can take punches pretty good, that combined with his shell defense should let him make it to the final bell to another losing effort. but hes no monster in the ring.
