Pacquiao's so called "popularity" is just due to him coming along at the right time.

I didn't even read your entire post. But I'm sorry... Manny Pacquiao's popularity is not because he "came at the right time". He is popular because he is a warrior, he works his ass off in the gym, has blinding fast speed, abnormal power for his size, and is charismatic. Here in Puerto Rico, he is extremely popular, and a lot of my friends who care very little about boxing actually care for today's fight and want to watch it.

there is no question that pacman is popular and a great fighter. he is just not as popuilar or as great as a fighter as floyd. pac may even be more likable than floyd as well. in there fights with common opponents floyd has more than double the ppv buys and beat better versions of the fighters. vs odh pbf did 2.4 million to pac vs odh 1.2. hatton pbf did 975k buys plus over a million overseas. in 2 fights w marquez pac did 700k. pbf did 1 million. add that to pac clottey doing no more than 500k and pbf mosely who isnt a popular fighter (last fights on hbo championship boxing) will do 1.5 million easy. that answers who is more popular not some writer who likes fighter a more than fighter b. as far as who is the better fighter its clear to anyone with eyes that you cant hit floyd and he can hit you whenever just check his compubox numbers. marquez only landed 12% of his punches. thats insane just like the look on floyds opponents faces around round 3 or 4 when he gets into his groove and his opponents start fighting to not get knocked out
