From a patriotic point of view it's not great but Carl was drubbing Calzaghe left right and centre. So he obviously doesn't like him and doesn't want him to beat one of his finest victims.

Understandable in some ways.

Also I think there was a real mutual respect between Joe and Mikkel due to Mikkel been a real gent who comes to win but respectfully.
