You are a sad person man. He was just saying, don't mean you have to have a go at a Brit involved in boxing does it? Tosser
i love watching fights in spanish or japanese, don't understand it but they make it so exciting. Also Lederman screeching "JIM!" is a highpoint in the sport
Actually, not at all to me. But, that is very interesting to me the difference that our accents make. The HBO guys, i.e., Lampley, Merchant, Kellerman, Lewis, Steward, etc., are my favorite. I do enjoy conversing with people with different accents and comparing our way of speech. Like for instance, it seems to me that British people have to try to talk like that and we Americans just let the words flow. I know that isn't the case, but that's how it seems.
As a Brit I don't find him dire but man oh man he does that thing that nigh on all americans do; accentuating and exaggerating the wrong words in his sentences. As well as needless shouting, they do that a lot too. The whole team is pretty **** to be honest, seems to be a running competition for who can draw out their sentences the longest.
Yeah, Bob may be a good dude and I didn't mind him much on ESPN, but I've really grown to dislike him on HBO. IMO, the commentary on Boxing After Dark is so poor that it almost takes away from the quality of the fights. A while ago Lampley filled in for him on the Gamboa/Angulo/Martinez Boxing After Dark triple-header, and I remember feeling a sense of relief when I hear Lampley's voice on the lead in.
