Huh? I suppose you can't see the straight left, ripping body shots, and good left hooks Peter landed. Peter looked good plain and simple.

Good to see a more aggressive Peter, but still, I'd like to see how he'd do against a top opponent.

I'm impressed how when he had Nagy hurt he stayed calm and did not go crazy.

He's getting better but Wlad still beats him.

I was more impressed with Benavidez though.

I have a feeling the 2000 version of Wlad would decapitate the 2000 version of Peter. But that's premature. Good fight and important win for Peter, congrats to him.

That was an impressive counterpunch to hurt his opponent, good for Peter actually.

    Thanks for posting! :good

I don't see what people are complaining about. By Peter's standards this was not a bad performance at all in terms of finesse.

The one glaring thing with him that's always been there and honestly probably always will be is how non-textbook his money punch is - that Major League fastball pitcher version of the overhand right. It's how he's comfortable putting power behind it, though - and it's effective when it lands, so don't look for that to change any time soon.

What Peter does have is a decent jab. It's long, straight, and he keeps pumping it not only with high frequency but with regularity specifically at the right moments - whenever an opponent starts to slip away or turn him, circling around where he's squared up, he uses the jab as kind of a tractor beam to keep his sense of distance and position, accommodating for the fact that's he's typically slower and less nimble of foot than his opponents. When he uses it that way, it's just flicked out for that one function - and that's probably the big knock on his jab, is that he too often pushes it rather than snapping it. It's straight and long enough that if he snapped it, he could have a lot more success controlling the ring with it instead of just waiting for spots to throw fastballs.

He lands a nice short hook at the beginning of the 2nd round. That is something he needs to fine-tune and use more of. :deal

Good point about the jab,Intentional. I had the same thought watching that clip.

Forty, thanks for posting the clip.

As a boxing fan, I'm glad to see Peter bouncing back from his losses by staying active, losing weight, and sharpening his focus. Sure he's not perfect, but I don't think he deserves the hate he's getting from some on this board.

I guess I am being too critical, he was in far better shape than the last few years. Maybe he is on the right track.

I got one word for you "Klitschko". Their are alot of Klit nuthuggers on this forum and their hate is still pretty high for the fact that Wlad was tossed around like a salad against a 25 yearold Peter back in 05. So I would say a good 75% comes from that direction. I would say as far as heavyweights go. The top 5 hated heavyweights are

    1. Ruiz
    2. Haye
    3. Valuev
    4. Arreola
    5. Peter
