Pacquiao vs Clottey - The Pacman can stop Clottey due to accumulation? Really?

I create this thread to explore the notion, being regularly supported by many ESB members, that pacquiao can stop clottey by landing a large amount of punches in the latter part of the fight. However my question is, has clottey ever been cut or bruised significantly in any of his recent or major fights. I remember him after the cotto fight basically looking the same way he did when he entered, as opposed to cotto who, as we all know was looking a little worn.

The question then is, if fighters like cotto or the other WW's clottey has faced in the past couldnt even damage clottey, how will pacquiao punish him enough to warrant a corner or referee stoppage? In my opinion alot will depend on how well clottey can take manny's punch. Will it stagger him or will he walk straight through? In any case the eventual victor will most likely become apparent in the very first round.

I think Clottey may walk through Pacquiao in the early rounds, but it's hard to do as the fight wears on, like we saw when another granite chinned fighter, Margarito, fought Mosley. It may take an unexpected shot to really hurt Clottey.

clottey is damn durable. he doesnt cur easy, he doesnt seem to get hurt and hes generally sturdy as hell. roachs game plan is body attack for this fight so its a matter of whether pac can break him down and get him out of there late on. clean head shots will come seldom. ariza talked about clottey being hit so much that hes gonna just get tired of it and quit. im on the fence as to whether pac can do this though.

With an unpopular opinion, i actually believe manny can properly rock clottey like hes never been shook before. We dont know how joshua will act when that happens, and it is especially worrying considering the way clottey has been speaking in the build up to the fight.

I dont think clottey would just give up, he would need to be beaten to a pulp or dangerouly injured (cuts etc) to be stopped on his stool by the ref or corner.

I agree. I think Pacquiao is a sharp enough puncher to hurt Clottey, if he catches him off guard. It's easy to take shots when you see them coming but Pacquiao is very hard to see, which is the reason he is such a dangerous puncher.

I just keep seeing the way pacquiao was able to hurt cotto so badly with single shots as a vision of things to come. Nobody cotto had faced till that point dropped him with single shots. Ricardo Torres, a massive puncher at 140 (a weight where cotto had poor punch resistance) could not take cotto down, instead he pushed him down. Pacquiao just did it with a simple two punch combo. For clotteys sake he better have that granite jaw under the shell defence.

I'm not sure how this fights gonna go, but I truley believe that considering it is at 147 pounds, this is Manny's most dangerous fight he has ever taken. Not that Clottey is the greatest boxer he has faced, but considering the style of fighter he is, his size and toughness, and being at 147 pounds. This is definitely a tall order for Manny.
