Mayweather tries to keep the fight at distance, Mosley presses forward. Mosley is strong, Floyd is forced to put some heat on him to keep control of the distance, the fight gets very good and remains close. The fight ends with a late TKO or UD. I expect this to be a very good fight not a run fest. :blood

Why don't you wait until at least the last part of April?

If the members of the Classic forum want to discuss modern day match ups they can go to General. It's just about picking and chosing who you talk to, much like it is in here.

**** i shouldn't be the first one to contribute...but then again i don't wanna have to follow mcgrain (**** i was too long winded and follow mcgrain)

i see the key to beating mosley being a great jab and that ain't something mayweather has. of course, as another poster whose name escapes me noted, mosley has zero defense against right hands.

i see mayweather keeping distance and discouraging mosley with right hands. if mosley goes into the same lapse he exhibited in the first wright fight, mayweather will harmlessly pepper him all night to a lopsided decision. if mosley treats this as what it is and the biggest fight of his career, he will press mayweather who cannot match his combinations or power. mayweather's speed if greater but will be completely nullfied by mosley's pressure.

that's if mosley can impose himself. i see mosley getting this accomplished for four rounds, landing harder and better shots than oscar but napping throughout the majority of the fight. mayweather will steal 8 rounds based on distance and straight rights with the majority of those watching feeling mosley could have won if he had pushed himself more or was 5 years younger

Or you can choose not to participate (respectfully) .. there are many here who never go on modern, myself included .. I am interested in hearing thoughts from a lot of the guys and see how they play out .. gives then possibly more validity in my book ...

Yeah, I understand, what I would say to you is this - if everyone made a thread in this forum on the modern fights that interested them, you wouldn't be able to find the Classic threads for the Modern ones - and modern threads are becoming increasingly common in Classic. This forum is all but unmoderated - mods don't move threads back and forth, generally - so we have to moderate it ourselves, to a degree. That said, i'll leave you to it, as you have suggested.

I completely appreciate your point . I will keep my posts to a very few and only related to the tiny handful of big fights around today .

I'm with you. It's not like this is the first Mayweather/Pacquiao thread here, they're here all the time now.

EDIT- this is a reply to McGrain

I think if Mosely looses it's going to be mostly age related in that he slowed down. Certainly he has a power advantage, probably but debatably an experience advantage and his only shortcoming relative to Mayweather is speed, both hands and foot. But I think Mosely has enough experience to negate Mayweather's speed, which makes it very interesting, cause the one thing I've ALWAYS wanted to see Mayweather do, it actually fight..ala Duran, rather than just box. The greats can do both. So for Mayweather to win this fight, I think he'll have to well..fight

IMO Mayweather wins it clearly. He will outbox Mosley who will be game and at times successful but in the end will be beaten. Something like 8-4 or even 9-3 with every round being contested.

Can I ask what you consider the timeline is for the Classic Forum I have held back from posting a couple of times as I was unsure if it was appropriate timewise.
