I think Povetkin is the one guy out there that can beat W. Klitschko ... I give David Haye a shot, but i've always said that the guy to beat Wlad and Vitali is Alexander Povetkin.

    Thoughts??

It's not out of the question, but it's impossible for me not to favor Wlad by a solid margin at this point.

I think if Pulev keeps on the path he is on could be a good challenge in 1.5 - 2 years.

I imagine that'll be his next fight after Chambers if everything goes well.

There was always big hype about Povetking but I couldn't really see him beating WALD. I just think he doesn't have the movement and his career has gone backwards after a very promising start when he was tested in some early fights. I'd rather they put him in with a Peter or Tony Thompson before fighting WALDO.

Povetkin is the madatory for the IBF strap ... if it doesn't happen we know who's ducking who. I believe that Povetkin is ready for a title shot now, he's been groomed for this moment. He's a more decorated fighter than Wlad (I hate to say that but it's true).

If he doesn't improve his defense, Povetkin's face is really going to get decorated by the time Wlad is through with him.

Teddy Altas has him using angles and working on his pivot ... he always had good footwork for a big guy and his defense isn't that bad for a HW ... all those guys get lumped up sooner or later.

You should watch his fight vs Nolan and his fight today vs Mora, he's constantly improving on that. He was giving alot of headmovement today and his footwork, using angle and not fighting in straight lines, is coming along.

His chin would finally be tested, which at this point is a huge question mark. The fact his management team refuses to put him in against a big puncher or a guy whose physically bigger. Guys like Bryd, Chambers, Brock and Donald. All are around 6'0 - 6'1, and are between feather fisted and average punchers.

I hope Povetkin stops ducking Wlad and gets his ass whooping like a man. At the very least takes on Peter, and lets everyone see just how weak that chin is, his team is trying so hard to protect from being exposed. I think he could very well be Audley Harrison like in the chin department.

HW's are HW's ... size has nothing to do with it, the most feather fisted HW prolly still hits as hard as a mule. Povetkin most of all can match Wlad in boxing ability which is something those other guys were unable to do and i'm sure at some point take Wlad to the distance and press him to fight (on the inside especially).

Your right, size has nothing to do with it. Though if you look at their KO ratio as well as them in action. None of them are heavy hitters by any means. Povetkin's chin really has never been tested, and judging by the oppenents his team matches him up with. One must think his chin could be a problem, and the rumored sparring knockdowns are true.

He has a very sturdy chin, i'm sure you won't be convinced until he gets in there with Klitschko but when he does you'll be impressed at how much punishment he can take, he'll lose, but there won't be any question about his chin or heart afterwards.
