It was a Quarry fight for me too. The local channel 9 would sometimes show a major event from Madison Square Garden a few days after. Don Dunphy commentated Mac Foster against Jerry Quarry , and I witnessed a smaller guy take apart a undefeated bruiser who won all of his fights by knockout. Quarrys exibition of skill and power made an impression that got me hooked on boxing for life, for better or for worse.

Mine was Nigel Benn vs G-Man. Despite the later tragic ramifications, I was utterly transfixed by the action as it unfolded in the ring.

It was, but it isn't in my possession now.

I sold it via an auction for a charity.

I still have a few other bits and bobs though.

That's nice of you. What did it go for? I'm always out for rare memorabilia. Some nice names on that.

$3,800 AUD (which was less than we'd have like to raise in all honesty but it still helped)

It has been sold on again since for more than that and I think it is in the hands of a collector in the USA now.

There were loads really. Tyson & Bruno etc I always had an interest but one that really springs to mind which got me really hooked was when SRL and T Hearns fought a rematch, I think it was in 89. I remember it being a Great fight, havent seen it for years, but I remember being in the minority thinking Leonard deserved victory though that could of been fan thoughts

I am only 22. My friend really hyped Jones to me. And blah blah from there. Watching him hurt Ruiz. Show boat. Etc. I loved it.
