Oh, I wasn't talking about mosley making it boring. I hope Mayweather does not run the whole fight. I hope it is not like his fight with Baldomir where fans were walking out.
kinda what the Pac-Mayweather fight's gonna look like except we'll see more running and less high guard.
You are being a bit hard on Pac here if you ask me. He battered a guy much bigger than him and couldn't have done much more. That's not sparring and it's not his fault if Clottey wouldn't engage. Clottey did exactly what he always does, high guard and low output with little imagination.
How can we be surprised by Arum he also put Cotto Malinaggi on PPv .But you right people will eat it up and this is why he won't stop . Soon Khan fights will be like this lol
Mayweather fans don't have the right to call this fight a piece of **** when they watch Mayweather fights. Don't be Hypocritical, this fight was more entertaining than most Floyd fights put together in most peoples eyes.
That's why this fight was pointless from the beginning. Because if you take Clottey as he always is, and Pac as he always is, it was going to be a wide UD ever single time. Clottey had NOTHING to trouble Pac with. He never did. But the people who said this were told they weren't real boxing fans if they didn't care about the fight. Maybe they just didn't care about seeing fights where the outcome was immediately obvious.
Perhaps, but it is a totally different fight against Floyd. Personally I agree that Floyd takes this via a UD but the only way to tell is get the two ****ers in a ring. McCrory of SKY summed it up best when he said we simply won't know until the two fight.
The fight was boring. The whole card was a piece of ****. Even the ANNOUNCERS had nothing good to say. Jim Lampley was so bored mid-fight that he had minor psychotic break and starting screaming "bang! bang!" over and over. And it was EXACTLY AS EXPECTED. Even the Marquez fight was more exciting than this. At least Marquez wasn't acting as a heavy bag.
Pac did his part - he forced the action, moved and connected on his body shots. The head shots where obviously blocked. Clottey is unfortunately set in his ways. As Lampley said, we are asking Clottey to be NOT Clottey. The saddest part is if he opened up he would have likely done much more damage and in my opinion would have floored Pac once in the late rounds - but probably would have been KO'd by Pac if he tried to be more offensive. When Pac got some rare head shots clean, you can clearly see Clottey bothered by it, backing up.
i liked it, lots of tension, especially early, clottey landed some good shots and i kept saying to my self, "clotteys definetly opening up from 7 on", then from 8 on, then the next round, then the next....he never opened up but i still liked the fight, really nice combos by manny, constant tension of not knowing if clottey will attack, good fight IMO
It was the size disparity and the fact that Clottey gave Cotto a hard fight that made this interesting. But I, like you, could never understand the hype around Clottey and the fact he was going to put on some masterclass over Pac. He'd have to at least let his hands go - it's not enough to just survive - unless he doesn't have the skill to fire back at this level.
