    1,231 punches?

What is the boxing record for the most punches thrown in a fight?

Not that I remember. The close I saw was him saying he wouldn't go down like the other fighters, so he wouldn't be KOd or TKOed.

Whatever it is, Paul Williams probably set it.

    I didnt see the fight.

But I have been in the ring, and I know what its like to be tired, and have someone hitting my guard when I'm too tired to throw back, and just because a punch doesnt connect with my face or body, doesnt mean it doesnt hurt. Getting punched with my guard around my head sometimes hurt more than the punches that actually connect with my face.

So to me, just because it says 246 of 1231 doenst mean that only 246 punches effected Clottey, im sure some of the "missed" punches had some sort of effect on him.

I know someone can attest to getting hit with your guard up can still hurt sometimes.

Yup. Margarito landed 337, I believe, which is right around the same percentage that Pac landed.

Very impressive numbers considering the extra weight bricks add to the gloves.

I mean I do think Clottey just wanted to see the final bell, but apparently it was so obvious thats all he wanted so Im guess thats why everyone is calling him heartless.

I need to see the fight before I put my foot in my mouth anymore for him.

Perhaps that is what we need. Why do we put up with **** poor undercards on these type of shows? Most people are sick of watching the JCC Jr vs TBA or Duddy vs TBC followed by new guy vs old guy.....

Give us some decent matches that won't make us flick through all the porn, ahem, I mean all the news channels killing time before the main event.

Gone are the days it seems where we had Akinwande vs Zolkin, Moorer vs Botha and Holyfield vs Tyson all on the same night.

Yea ppv undercards as of late have sucked terribly. Im hoping may vs mosley does it right since the promoters are going to want that ppv to out sell pac/clottey (which wont be too hard).

But with alvarez & jacobs facing the ever prepared tba I see the undercards easily becoming worthless.
