Freddie Roach say's pac will beat floyd but that's what he's supposed to say. He says floyd is afraid of pac but that's what he's supposed to say. even roach respects floyds skills and admits the fight would be very difficult. the real build up to a pac-floyd fight is how well floyd does against mosley
atsch cotto - clottey did just enough to make it close, but couldn't seal the deal (against a broken cotto no less) Baldo - clottey fights him and loses, so baldo is a top WW : floyd beats baldo in every round, and floyd beat a fraud ww champ (double standard?) also, without a KO, fights go 10/12 rounds, so winning some in the beginning doesn't mean the fight will end up the same at the end Margo - notoriously slow starter, so broken hand or not, you can't assume clottey would have continued to out punch margo as the fight proceeded I like clottey, but he is not even close to elite. and he went into this fight on short notice, short camp, and with a random trainer pac should have beat him, and thats why the odds for pac to win were insane
lol lets try to base things of what we have seen...if you can stop your bias Pacman/clottey: - As soon as the fight started Clottey had his hands up and stayed in his defensive stance -Clottey has a super-low punch output rate in most of his fights which forced Manny to throw alot of shots. -When Clottey's nuts would drop on occasion he hit pacman pretty easily with the overhead right (like floyd likes to use) -Pacman's offense is part of his defense as he throws punches to keep the opponent from attacking (works on fighters who aren't counterpunchers) Pacman/Cotto: -If you look at the first round and a half (maybe 2 rounds) of the fight Cotto was controlling the fight with his BOXING and his jab. Manny didn't throw a whole lot of shots until Cotto though he felt the maximum power of pacman (wrong), got over confident and tried to overpower manny for a ko by trying to brawl with him -Cotto switched his gameplan and fell into Manny's game of trying to stand there and brawl which lead to his lost Now looking at these things we KNOW -Floyd will not just sit there and hold his hands up and block tons of blows because he isn't built for it. -We also know Floyd's defense is better than clotteys (even Roach agreed before he starting pumping up Manny) -Floyd likes to use the right hand. -Floyd has the height and reach advantage -Floyd is faster than any of the ww manny has faced -Floyd WILL NOT fall into manny's gameplan as he is NOT a brawler -Floyd is a good counterpuncher -Floyd will BOX like cotto was doing for the few rounds he looked good -Floyds problem will be workrate as he doesn't throw tons of punches (but at least more than clotey -Manny can take a punch so low chance of KO from Floyd unless its a perfect punch so floyd will have to throw more shots and take more chances to win rounds. -Manny wont get tired so don't plan on it -Manny's shots can and will hurt so it's on Floyd to avoid the shots and control the pace of the fight IF this fight happens it'll be the best fight of both of their careers but it you can't say it'll be a straight blowout based on what we have seen
Pacquiao is easily hit and Mayweather will counter him and move all night long. Pot shots galore. Right hand leads and check left hooks when Manny is bouncing in and out. Manny will have his moments but Mayweather will dominate a bigger portion of the fight and win by comfortable UD.
indeed, its just the volume of the angle and combo punches with great foot movement which will kill mayweather
mayweather would counterpunch his ass back to the phillipines. any fighter who has movement side to side would box rings around him. just go and look at fights against the likes of cotto and see where he is standing when he misses a punch, he is totally of balance and is asking to be put away.
I attended the fight live. It was actually disappointing due to the lack of exchange from Clottey. A jam packed Cowboys Stadium with blood-thirsty Texans looking forward to the biggest fight in the biggest arena was short handed yesterday. The built anticipation was bigger than ever because of a lack-luster undercard. The stadium is too big for a boxing event and the world's largest HD screen took unwanted control of your vision. I personally thought that this was a failure and didn't live up to expectations that Arum and Jones wanted. However, watching the fight live, I thought Clottey did a great job with Manny. Manny could not penetrate the passive defense, and Clottey countered beautifully in the mid to late rounds of the fight. I personally thought Clottey landed the cleaner, crisper punches on Pacquiao. He showed Manny's vulnerability to uppercuts in close range. I thought Clottey didn't deserve 108-120 or 109-119. I gave Clottey atleast 3 rounds. However, I may have to score the fight on TV again.
I cant see how anyone can look at pacman v clottey and see how that proves Pacman has too much for PBF. Mayweather is in a totally different league to clottey. There is no comparison at all
Any of you floydettes remember the last person to throw 1200+ punches against him?? I know one of you kids knows the last time someone threw over 1200 punches at him in 12 rounds. When/Who was it?
you really don't know much about boxing do you. pac can only throw that amount of punches if floyd lets him. look at pavlik or calzaghe for example, everyone believed that they would both win on workrate against hopkins but hopkins nullified this by staying out of range. floyd will make manny follow him around the ring and counterpunch him to sleep.
