Can't be mad at Jerry Jones for wanting to host a great fighter in Pacquiao. He may be a jerk but he is a shrewd business man. What he wants is what he gets. can't fault him for that.
Yea. Promotion, maybe for the Cowboys but the NFL overruled that they cant wear any uniform of the NFL and cant use anything that represents the NFL beside the stadium.
Arum was trying to create an epic night of boxing but he failed. Don't condemn the man for trying to do something great for the sport you ungrateful ****s. Most of you wouldnt have a clue about public speaking, marketing, promoting a show and what actually goes into creating a spectacle. The fact is he had good fighters on the card, he had a great venue, im sure he got good ppv buys, it probably didnt go as well as expected, he made some money, his fighters made money, thats business.
this fight has no bearing on my prefight thoughts of him using PED's! That fight was the biggest farce I have ever seen!! Clottey came to survive, he never at anypoint in the fight looked like he wanted to win. didnt use his strength or his size to his advantage, didnt spoil him or lean on him... just stood there with his hands up and took pacs shots for 12 rounds. didnt land a single meaningful punch, even the uppercuts were pushed through. Pacquiao looked like he was dancing around a big, 160lb punchbag for the whole night. Why didnt Clottey even try and win? What was his intentions?... To survive against Pacquiao? Oh my god, I feel so sorry for the people who had to pay for that ****!!... Just a workout for Pacquiao, who at no point in the fight shown any sign if tiredness or slowing down. What the fu.....? :bart Back to the purpose of the thread... I agree Arum is a matchmaking piece of ****, but you could definately say the same about Floyd :thumbsup
Utter dross! The commentators in teh UK were actually complementing Clttey as being brave! it was a joke, what was the point of him fighting?? he was never ever gong to win the fight with they tactics. It was obvious from round 6 or 7 he was losing, why didnt he tyhrow caution to the wind? The glove tapping at the start and end of every round was a joke as well! that to me what Clottey in some way hoping Pacquiao would take it easy on him. Nobody has any criticism for Pacquiao these days, he should be critcised for taking on such an uncompetetive fight, hopefully it shames him into fightin PBF.
i think tonights fight card all looked great on paper. you had castillo and gomez- two exciting head to head fighters- you had soto and diaz - two more exciting guys all these matchups were banger matchups- but failed to deliver for some reason. I think Arum put these cards together basically because he wanted wars and he wanted mexicans. For some reason or another- the fighters didnt engage for ****. I dont think he can be blamed for that- we havent seen any decent undercards on ppv lately- this one looked best on paper for a while. at least it wasnt some bloody julio chavez jnr spectacle.
As expected it was a comfortable points win for pacquiao against a tough but limited opponent. Thank god I didnt have to pay for it with it being free on TV here.
Have you seen Castillo fights lately? I knew it be like Gomez vs Gatti all over again. David Diaz is a bum fighter that i knew would lose but it took both him and Soto to do something better for the last 4 rounds.
expound please? So Pac and Clottey couldn't sport dallas jerseys outside of the stadium?:think:think:huh
They could for personal use. But like when they have the press conference, interviews, blah blah blah.
I wonder if they were selling #3 Pacquiao NFL Dallas jerseys. I'd buy one. On a serious note, **** the NFL. you can't go to a bar in Vegas and watch a game if the TV is bigger than 55 inches without paying a fee.
Main event was a joke as I thought it would be. Clottey is a v limited fighter. I found it laughable hearing Jim Watt try and somehow explain how It shows how much PBF would struggle. PBF wouldnt be a standing punchbag.
