Yes I find that very hard to believe there was alot of very bad blood between Dodson and Froch for years.
atsch sure he was. smith would hold, but when he tried to step off, tony hooked his arms and wouldnt let him get out.
sorry ,,what i meant was the cuts really bad ,my sight is not as good as it use to be , was on the phone to my wife who watched it with my boys and was telling me what was getting said on sky .
Even Stieglitz would hammer him in truth... Steiglitz might be weak by world level standards, compared to the very best, but he's clearly and noticeably better than Paul Smith. He has a few good wins under his belt over world rated opponents while Smith is struggling with strictly domestic class fighters all the time.
how can people even go on that smith is world class! he was gettin beat by dodson the fight should of been stopped on the cuts straight away! if it was dodson would they of let him fight on ? and to be honest both fighters were holding a bit but dodsson was robbed in my eyes! and that isnt being bitter! smith is going to get hammered by magee's style and i cant wait mite even go to it and now im going to wait for the smith brigade to try and jump all over my comment HE IS NOT GOING FURTHER THAN BRITISH OR EUROPE END OF
it was wasnt a robbery but must admit i had it closer than the judges. the cuts were bad but it shudnt have been stopped the corner done a great job. maybe tony shidnt charge in with his head so much. i think smith may have been hurt once or twice granted but as the fight wore on dodson wud hold as much as possible and not let smith work. im not convinced YET that smith will be world class and think he shud get another defence in before he goes gor quigley:good
hang on a minute they were both diving in, as for the cuts it was 50/50 so it could of been tony with the cuts its just one of them things
Computers back in action, had a trojan, anyways... No excuses made, i had Smith ahead by 2 rounds including the point deducted, i think he gained them extra rounds as in the second half of the fight he was more aggressive and he did well to carry on with them cuts. Talking about the cuts, the fight should of been over but the referee saved Smith's ass, he even thanked the ref in his interview after the fight!! I also agree with what "The Echo" paper said that Dodson showed the better boxing skills than Smith, using a stiff jab but not many big right hands thrown. Fair play to Smith for having the heart to go the 12 rounds with bad cuts, he's not World Champion material though, you guys have got to admit that!!
Nice to see you on here Mike :good Was a **** fight fight in all honesty, I don't know where Dodson goes from here, in fact I don't know where the **** Smith goes from here becasue if Magee is too much (which he would be) then he can forget World Level - Steiglitz would beat him comfortably
Think thats a little harsh. You have to call it as it is despite personal relationships or feelings. No arguments from the Dodson team, Smith won the fight, did more down the stretch. Very hard physical contest, Paul is one strong kid at super-middle and can really punch, as Billy Graham will tell you. Dodson proved he isn't chinny as some claimed beforehand,as he took some good shots from Paul. Speaking of chins, the uppercut Tony landed on Paul proved beyond doubt he can really take a whack. It was a peach and landed flush.
