    I understand why Clottey is getting abused for his fighting style today.

    BUT, Arthur Abraham is just a few punches away from being exactly the same boxer yet people love him.

    His knocking his opponents out. That's the difference.

    Also I doubt that Abraham vs a super middle weight version of Clottey would look much different.

    I hear what you say about the defensive style but Abrahams spends 50% covering up and 50% firing bursts of combinations.

    Clottey spent 95% covering up and 5% on the offensive

    Abraham has that equalizer that flattens guys out and ends a fight with one punch, as he has shown time and time again.

    The last time I checked, Abraham is undefeated. Clottey has lost 3 fights now, and in all 3 cases, his inactivity was a big reason for his defeat. Correction, he has 4 losses. The one to Baldo though was a DQ loss.

    Abraham has barely even looked like losing a fight due to not throwing enough punches thus far in his career.

    Clottey has lost several.

    As someone pointed out in a recent thread, if Abraham ever does reach the later rounds needing a knockout, then the ensuing onslaught is likely to be chillingly spectacular.

    The two are not remotely similar.

    Abraham has power and he steps it up after 4-5 rounds. Clottey just blocks then blocks some more.

    Not really. Abraham is extremely inactive and works meaningfully for maybe 10-20 seconds per round. He was getting outworked by Lajuan Simon for substantial parts of their fight.

    Abaham = Clottey with power.

    Abraham knows he's got power. Clottey doesn't have it. I think Clottey is more skilled when he actually throws, I like his punches more, which means nothing since he throws less.

    But Abraham doesnt base everything off of his turtle shell, thats where he takes breathers and more importantly looks for habits and such in his opponents.

    Then he explodes and knocks you out.

    Well, Clottey has fought much better opposition. Margarito, Cotto, Pacquiao, even Judah are incomparably better than Jermain Taylor's corpse and Miranda (to whom he nearly lost the first time). In fact, Abraham has been losing rounds through laziness to opponents he could completely dominate. He was getting literally outworked by Jermain Taylor for a substantial part of their fight, and JT has one of the most woeful work ethics in boxing. Not to mention many of his MW opponents.

    Abraham seems to have much more heart that Clottey, but when he steps in with a top-level fighter with a punishing work-rate, who's to say he won't just stay in his shell?
