I was thinking no way a big man like Clottey can be this scared of little Pac. Then somewhere in the last 3 rounds he had Pac off balance and he fired a shot and pulled back halfway and covered up looking scared as hell to get countered. Then I knew what was going on. He didn't want to get KTFO or look like the picture below.

I doubt that any of you haters have even seen the fight. Look at the left hook and the left uppercut Clottey landed in the 1st couple of minutes in the last round. He did a smart thing and fought safe. He waited to find his spot, and it never came. If he had tried to get crazy, he would have gotten ko'd like Hatton and Cotto. No way this guy took a dive. He knows that winning this bout would have gotten him a Mega Fight with Floyd.

 

IMO, Clottey fought as expected. his blocks are second to none, he's a robotic boxer in a lot of ways. but his speed did impress last night.

but why was manny punching clottey's gloves? super obvious. letting clottey know that if he let down his guard, he was going to eat a glove (which almost always happened when Clottey was on the attack). counters usually were combos to the head, and clottey would feel them and shrink away, backing up into the ropes while pac went for it. i thought pac controlled how clottey had to move really well. checkmate sorta thing.

fixed? i really dont think so. but clottey needs a new trainer.

Maybe you've never bothered to study Clottey's style. He has a high guard and rarely throws punches unless he sets his feet. Manny is the most fleet footed fighter in boxing and he uses angles well and keeps his opponents turning. Anybody that knows the game had a very good idea that this would happen. Now, watch the fight again with this in mind.

I doubt it was fixed but I can't say it didn't cross my mind after the look Clottey and Arum gave each other after the fight. But Clottey would be one dumb ass to go 12 rounds with a wrecking machine knowing he has to go easy.

Why anybody expected anything different is beyond me. Anybody with any clue on how to breakdown a fight knew what they were going to see last night. It went EXACTLY like I said it would.

Clottey has been a welterweight for 15 years and never won a title. That should tell you something. Now people are trying to act like beating a guy who could not win a championship in 15 years of fighting in the same division, is some kind of great victory. Right......
