To barely loss a round to Clottey at welter is a great performance by Pacquiao

We already knew Pac was better than Cotto and Margarito...so now we...know it more?

You too obviously missed it. :roll: Those two got a tough fight from Clottey. Those two were some of the top guys at 147. Pac shut Clottey out. THAT is the impressive feat.

Landing about 5% of your punches and being easy to hit is not impressive. Throwing 100punches a round is impressive. Winning 118-110 decisions against a top5 WW is impressive

Pac already beat Cotto. We knew he was much better than Cotto. Beating a guy who was worse than Cotto more impressively than Cotto beat him is more impressive how?

The way Pac beat Cotto was unreal. I was literally stunned watching that fight. The way Pac beat Clottey was boring and predictable.

And Margarito took a comfortable UD off of Clottey. Pacquiao, being a better fighter, took an even more comfortable UD.

Is your point that this fight proved that Pacquiao is one of the very best at WW? I already knew that. Cotto proved that.

Bingo. Clottey has a history of failing when the lights get really bright. Furthermore, he has a style that is tailor-made for Pacquiao. He throws a very low volume of punches. His head trainer wasn't able to train him and he had a shortened training camp.

Again, great job by Pacquiao, but Clottey is no monster.

Like I've said Pac's win over Clottey is far far more impressive than the JMM win for PBF.

No. Mosley gives Pacquiao hell. Floyd certainly outboxes Pacquiao.

 

What more impressive was Pacquaio's energy and stamina, starting and ending the fight in a full-throttle, high-octane, all-out attack, never letting go of pressure against Clottey.

You think he would have been a little tired towards the end, hitting those solid hard arms, gloves, head and body of Akon for full 12 rounds, but he was still a ball of ****in' energy, darting in and out, and just dying to have the guy open up for a little bit of entertainment.

Interested to see that kind of power pressure against Mayweather, Jr though.

 

The romance between the two didn't help at all. I kinda felt Clottey didn't want to unload his shots on a guy he completely admired. He was just happy with getting his money. After the fight Kellerman basically had to pry them apart since they were so heavily into making out. No discredit to Pac, he fought a great fight. But why fight Clottey when you know he's gun shy? Thank you for mentioning Tim Bradley's name. Nice to know there is at least one Pac fan who wants to see that fight. Team Pac and Arum seems to shy away from it though.

Nice test for Pac, no doubt. But nobody will remember this fight in 20 yrs. If they had chosen to fight Bradley at least it would've been an amazing action fight where fireworks are guaranteed.

And since Pac can beat and dominate guys at 147, let's never make an excuse that he's a natural lightweight if he should get beaten by either Floyd or Shane or maybe even Pwill.
