I find it interesting that many fans are critisizing Clottey for only throwing 400 punches against Pac, yet Floyd managed to shut Baldomir down by only 59 punches more!

Another interesting thing is, Floyd fans excuse for Mayweather not throwing many punches was because Baldomir was the bigger man. Pac is not the bigger man but he is certainly a lot more dangerous than Baldomir, and if Floyd was scared to put himself in harms way of Baldomir's punches, I can just imagine how much more tentative he will be against Pac.

The FMJ-Mosley fight will be a good indicator of how FMJ will deal with a fast, relentless powerpuncher in front of him.

Excuse me, are you trying to insinuate that floyd isn't very active in the ring?

lol, against a dangerous opponent or perceived dangerous fighter, no. He is very cautious and I can only imagine how cautious he would be against someone like Shane or Pac.

A lot of fans, many Floyd fans are critisizing Clottey for not throwing nearly enough, yet I can see Floyd doing exactly the same thing...not throwing enough.

joyboy's logic. after all the shits they are telling us, how are we suppose to believe them? they criticize clottey for not throwing enough punches but in this fight, floyd just threw 59 punches more.

joyboys are the most insecure and ******ed set of fans in the world just like floyd himself.

Mayweather threw 1231 punches vs big show at Wrestlemania.

    He is a work horse.

Find me a fight where a guy out-throws mayweather by 3 to 1 and this might be relevant. Workrate is relative. If your opponent's workrate is low, or if you make it low, then your workrate need not be high.

Clottey threw MUCH less, and landed less. Mayweather generally throws somewhat less, and lands more.

Could his workrate be a problem? Maybe, but it hasn't been before, whereas Clottey had already lost two fights on workrate going into this one.

Guess what Floyd didn't do? Stand in one place in high guard and let Baldomir tee off unopposed.

Didn't Floyd hurt his right hand in his fight?

I'm not sure if I understand the point of this thread. If it says anything it says you have to adjust. There were 2 different fights. It's not like Pac is going to throw 1200 against Floyd's 400. Again it's not as much about the activity as it is the lack of activity in comparison to a machine gun like Pac throwing 100+ punches a round. That was like some FN4 stats.

Common sense prevails. Good job. Pointless thread.

Threads like these add unnecessary fuel to the already burning fire.

You left out one little fact. PBF hurt his hand in that fight and still shut him out.:deal Typical of a *******. They don't report the entire story.

Actually I genuinely forgot he hurt his hand in the fight, or did he really?

Did he forget his xylocaine? :rofl

Besides, going back to Floyd not throwing against dangerous bigger stronger opponents, he only threw about 480 punches against DLH too. So its not a one off thing.

floyd threw 493 punches against a bloated lightweight in marquez who was forced to change his style and is even going after the much bigger floyd that night. it was only 94 punches more than clottey did throw and yet you have joyboys criticizing clottey.

joyboys are now throwing the "hurt his hand" excuse for excusing floyd's low output. yet they are quick to bash clottey. lol

Seems boxing history isnt your strong point. Floyd had hurt his hand in that fight which is one of the reasons why his punch out put decreased.
