P.S. LOL @ the HWC being reduced to being contested over an internet stream with all the bull**** channels there are on American television.

 

HBO sucks.

Yes, it's an internet stream, but connect to your tv and it's just like watching any other channel.

Besides, I'd rather pay $15 and have the majority go to the fighters instead of paying for a month of HBO and the majority of it going to the idiots there.

 

WATCHING ON YOUR TV INSTEAD OF COMPUTER MONITOR
If you want to watch it on your TV screen, instead of a computer monitor do this: If you have a HDTV just connect it to your computer and use it in place of your monitor. This is what I am doing. The exact method to connect will vary depending on your computer inputs and TV inputs. For myself, I'm using an HDMI cable that runs from my computer to the plasma. It works great for Hulu.com, so I expect it should work well for the fight too. I sure hope so!

If you aren't sure what connections or cables to use, just look at your computer and TV, then search Youtube for how to videos..whatever setup you have, there should be something on there to tell you how to make it work.

Oh, and if you need cables, Monoprice.com is the way to go. Extremely cheap! I got a 35ft HDMI cable for $30 total with shipping.

And remember, you can use this setup to watch anything from your computer, not just this particular fight, so it's well worth the cost of any cables you might need to purchase.

 

I am but few questions....

How good will quality be??? Can yo watch it full screen??

I'll be watching on my brand new laptop.

It's windows 7. Intel core I3.


Don't have many programs installed on it. Will it be good enough???

Have very fast internet connection so that should go well without pauses for buffering..

Also what time will it start in WASHINGTON. Pacific time?>

Start time: The streaming website says 6pm eastern (3pm pacific). So I'd give or take 30 minutes each way to be sure.

Streaming: According to the website FAQ, it's supposed to be a stream at
700kbps. This is the same rate as standard videos at Hulu.com. I'm able to display Hulu videos full screen, and even on my 50 inch plasma, they are still pretty good quality. So I hope to see similar results from the stream, we shall see.

As long as your internet connection is broadband, at least 1Mbps, you should be fine.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking of connecting the new wall mounted 46 inch flat screen to the computer to watch it (I've ordered it, too), but I've got a 22 inch computer monitor, so I might just watch it on this.

Starts at 6 PM eastern, so that's 5 PM my time, which is central. Looking forward to it.
