it just burns in your belly that pac is geting everything you wish may would get. the love, the endorsements, the recognition, the honors, the respect, the perfect script to the perfect story about the best fighter in this era.
pac is pulling far and away from the pack and floyd will not be able to catch him. end of story.

    My beloved Pacquaio?

Don't fall into the pattern of trying to nominate me as a ******* just because I recognize Pac is a sensational fighter.

Well... I guess that will be the first time I'm considering a *******.

The ALi comparison is not laughable. It's not a personality thing. Pac is just a phenom. I could call him this generations Henry Armstrong but that doesn't mean I'm saying he is as good as Henry Armstrong or that his resume is as strong as Armstrong.

So do you rank Mayweather higher than Pac on an ATG list?

No doubt that Pac is great, or that he is fun to watch. However when I read things like Pac/Ali comparisons, and when I consider that half the people showering Pac with this praise probably didn't even know that Marg threw more punches in his fight against Clottey, it annoys me to no end.

Now I am in no way saying that it was the same kind of fight, or that Marg did just as well or anything. Marg is a piece of crap. I have never been impressed by him, and the stupid plaster of Paris thing was the icing on the cake. My beef is with the bandwagon jumpers. The constant bickering on this board and the stupid bandwagon jumpers make me want to vomit.

See comments above. Next time I get frustrated with *******s I will just keep it to myself, and/or leave the sarcasm out of it.

jaguar is just a fan boy

those are the type of idiots that call you *******/***** when you're giving a fighter his dues.

ask jaguar for his top 20 all time p4p list, i bet you he wont be able to come up with 20 fighters.

Ali was just as great (if not greater) because of his accomplishments outside of the ring, as he was for the accomplishments inside the ring. Not to mention his larger than life personality. Ali transcended boxing. He was more than a boxer, more than a fighter, and more than a champion. Your boy isn't there yet and I doubt that he ever will be. There will never be another Ali. NEVER.

Mayweather's skill is far superior to Pac's, however Pac's resume (in my opinion) ranks him higher on the ATG list. If FMJ beats Manny and Mosley then he will be higher than Pac for sure. In my opinion Floyd needs Manny to cement his legacy. Manny needs Floyd too, but to a lesser extent.

It seems that nowadays people«s only reason to start threads is to complaint about something.

Being the fan of a boxer = credibility suicide.

I never reveal who I am actually a huge fan of because it just opens the floyd vampires up to discredit that boxer in the name of the holy undefeated one.

I was impressed by the 1200+ punches. You make a point with the Margo punches. But they never come with the speed, angles, footwork, or precision that Pac do. And the way Pac backed Clottey up at times, and looked like he was gunning for the KO. Clottey was a combination of fearful and starstruck. Pac threw less punches but commanded the fight with the way he fought. Margo beat Clottey but it wasn't anywhere near as one-sided as this Pac fight. I find your thread to be just as bad as the thread about Floyd throwing 60 more punches than Clottey did. It's just an irrelevant comparison. Obviously just throwing punches doesn't make you great. Lastly, who isn't impressed by Margo's stamina?

P.S. Ali is my second favorite fighter ever (Tied with Frazier).

My problem is the bickering too, and this thread did no help.

I understand Ali. I'm sure I'm much more educated on the subject of Ali than you.

For me the comparison comes with Pac's star power and talent inside the ring. It also comes with the way Pac loves people and his insistent on wanting to put on a good show. Both have those entertaining qualities.

Floyd skill is not far superior. He had superior qualities, just as Pac does. By saying what you say, it's clear you have some sort of agenda towards Floyd or you have some sort of infatuation with defensive fighters. Are you trying to imply that Pac relies on athletic ability a lot more? Pac in terms of skills and ability is just as good if not better than Floyd. 7 Weight Divisions and his record aren't flukes.

Who is closer to being this generations Ali. Pac or Mayweather? Give us a good laugh.

No one is the new ali.

    That is impossible.
He is the greatest athlete in the history of sports.

Obviously this thread backfired for me. I saw things like the stupid Baldomir thread that you mentioned, the Ali comparison, and such and it annoyed me so I posted something.

The truth is, Manny is downright amazing. The whole Mayweather negotiation debacle really left me with a bad taste in my mouth regarding Manny, but there is no denying the man's talent. I don't like Floyd Mayweather's attitude either but you can't deny that he is one hell of a fighter.

My boxing loyalty lies only with boxing itself. It's sad to me to see what ESB and what boxing in general has become. Call me a ***** or whatever because I think that Floyd would beat Manny. Tell me I am a Floydette because I point out Roach/Arum/Manny's contradictions and/or excuses. At the end of the day, I don't get anything out of this except some news and a bit of entertainment. However when the entertainment suffers because of bias and/or ignorance, I like to expose it.

In this case it backfired because people either took me too seriously, didn't understand what I was saying or where I was coming from, or are too blindly loyal to their fighter of choice to look objectively at what I had to say.

I have no problem with statements about dominance, speed, angles, work rate, stamina. That's all well and good. But things like "1200 punches, he's an ATG" or "1200 punches! Manny is in another league" Back that crap up with some facts, some insight, or at least a well formulated opinion. Otherwise it's just fanaticism.

Again, there will never be another Ali so quit trying to make comparisons. You just further prove my point about people not knowing what they're talking about. You're so busy campaigning for your fighter that you fail to see, recognize what true greatness really is.

How is Pac my fighter again? Most people would think I'm a hater on the subject.

I've explained my point, yet you fail to understand because you have to completely examine every detail. When people say Pac is this generations Armstrong they aren't comparing the greatness nor the amount of wins Armstrong has as that's no contest. They're comparing the weight-jumping.

Nobody can be Ali, that much is obvious. Of course, Pac is the closest thing to become that in a long time... for this generation. Keep arguing that though. Makes you look like a tool.
