  1. Why don't we hear this classic boxing adage anymore?

cause there haven't been any recent fights between a big man and a little man who are near the same level, except maybe PBF vs Marquez.

Cause Wlad and Vitali make it so obvious that it goes without saying, these days.

because you have josh clottey practicing his acting skills in the middle of the fight. He is trying out for the role of the heavy bag in Rocky VII

Mayweather said that (he referred to himself as great not good) regarding the Marquez fight. Then afterwards said Marquez was a great little man, not just a good one.

We are living in an age of performance enhancing drugs and multiple champions in each weight class.......

That addage can be flushed down the drain if the little man moving up is cheating ped user, and I believe there are many in boxing today.

Mayweather-Marquez is a classic example of a great big man beatiing a great little man.
    .....albeit a great aging littleman.

an all time great little man beats a great big man it would seem.
its a matter of how great - not necessarilly how big.

We still hear it. All of the ingredients in the Pacquiao vs. Clottey fight pointed toward Clottey losing, though. Secondly, Pacquiao is heads and shoulders ahead of Clottey in terms of ability anyway, and Pacquiao is "great" whereas Clottey is "decent".

Vic Darchinyan tried to disprove this... but couldn't.

  14. That was an aging and bloated great little man.
