Post Clottey; people seem newly/further convinced Pacquiao would prevail over Floyd Mayweather. What do you say?

My pick has always been Mayweather UD, and yesterday didn't change it.

Before I was fairly certain of a Mayweather UD. At this point I'm fairly certain Mayweather would stop him. Pacquiao would force Floyd's hand with his aggressiveness and high volume. This fight would bring out the best in Floyd Mayweather. It would be Pacquiao's career funeral.

This is what I believe too, Rafa. Mayweather will be "forced" to throw more and he will have many chances of countering Pacquiao effectively. The few times Clottey elected to throw, he caught Pac pretty easily and with some hard shots. I'm just not sure if Mayweather can definitely hurt him, but I can see that happening because of accumulation. Right now my pick is Mayweather by decision.

I still go by Floyd UD, and a KO is not far off if he catches Pac coming in.

Floyd probably knock him..Manny showed he makes a lot of mistakes coming in off balance...Clottey exploited that and I hate to see what Floyd would do...Floyd stops him around the 9th or 10th...after last night, Manny wouldn't be competitive as I thought originally

    Cheers mate, same here. :good

The thing that prevents me from picking a KO for Mayweather is the fact that Pacquiao seems to take punches better than before. Clottey and Cotto both got him with some pretty hard shots, but he seemed totally unfazed. But he's relatively easy to hit, so maybe many blows could do the job. We'll have to wait and see.

Before the fight, I had Mayweather by UD. After the Clottey fight, I see Mayweather on a TKO... I just see Floyd's premium counter-attacking ability and supreme accuracy will be to much for Manny and will cause Mayweather to stop him in the later rounds. The Mosley fight will be very telling and I'm sure it will reaffirm my belief.

If Clottey can touch Manny like that, Floyd will eat him alive.

Clottey busted Pacquiao's face up, if he was able to hit Pacquiao with the straight right off a counter as much as he did(it seemed to be the only thing he did) then Mayweather has an excellent chance of busting Pacquiao up early.

Pac via late stoppage unless Floyd goes into survival mode, in which case I'd go with a Pacquiao decision. Those looking at what Clottey landed on Pac as a sign of what Floyd would do while simultaneously mentioning that what Pac did to Joshua has absolutely no bearing on a Mayweather-Pac match seem to be using selective logic because the fight I saw was Pac inviting Clottey to land on him in order to draw him into a firefight. When Pac didn't do that, Clottey didn't land. The end result was Clottey's will was broken to the point where he couldn't even pull the trigger except for when Manny was begging him to. Taking the minimal offense Clottey generated while missing the context of the domination is missing the forest for the trees.

That said, fair and complete credit goes to Mayweather on my behalf should the fight happen and he proves me wrong. You'll get no excuses or bull**** from me. I only hope the same happens with Pac and those choosing Mayweather if my prediction proves accurate. :thumbsup
