I give credit to clottey for not crumbling down. those fast crisp and precise punches to the center and side made me cringe everytime it connects.
They were. Tremendous bodywork by Pacquiao. Hopefully this fight enabled alot of ignorant "fans" to realize that body punches are SCORING PUNCHES. Probably not though. They'll never get it.
This started when judges ignored Haglers body punches against SRL. From then on Body punches were barred from scoring. Last night was a prime example.
at first i was impressed by the body punches that pac unleashed but it turns out that i was more impressed on how clottey absorbed those punches he must be on a-side meth those punches bounces off like it was nothing. LOL
People who I was watching this fight with were continually saying Pacquiao was landing nothing. Looks like they were only watching the guard of Clottey (which Pac did go around and through on occasion), and not the body. Some of those right hooks to the ribcage were painful to watch.
Best body punching I've seen in a long time. I loved how he was throwing straight shot combos to the body. You hardly ever see that. Looked like he was ripping Clottey's stomach open.
I was getting the idea maybe Roach wanted Manny to emphasize body punching to bring Clottey's inpenetrable guard down. Respect to Clottey for taking some massive bodyshots that would of taken most fighters down. Whether some landed on his arms or gloves those had to hurt like a ***** too. People have no idea how many injuries can happen even when punches are blocked like that.
Yeah that was the gameplan. Roach was saying how they were going to attack Clottey's body. The guy is a master strategist.
