floyd was better off fighting manny the first time

Up until very recently, I would think most would agree he was the best at the weight.

As of right now, I feel he shares the spot with Pac.

And as Pac continues to improve, and surprise ( last night was the first Pac fight in four I picked correctly), I believe Floyd will get more and more nervous about facing him.

 

He's the most skilled defensively, that's all.

 

Actually, I would agree there.

MOST SKILLED would be a better term than BEST.

SRL was the most skilled boxer at WW when he faced Duran in Montreal.

But, due to 'intangibles' (heart, determination etc) Duran was better.

 

Yep whether Floyd wants to admit it or not he's scared to lose his 0.

I would think overall such as with timing, accuaracy, patience, adaptability,etc.

 

Duran was something else and I do agree with SRL being the most skilled at WW.

 

If he cares about his legacy, this path seems the most most rewarding

Beating Mosley and Pac within a one year span would greatly enhance his legacy and shut up most of the critics. If he would have beaten Pac yesterday there would still be people yapping about him ducking Mosley, a "legitimate WW".

Well thats true, in fact, he's gonna be asking anyone to take blood tests from now on. And until the sanctioning bodies makes it compulsory, it remains a petty request. I'm sure all respectable athletes will abide by its organizational regulations.:deal

 

If Floyd and Mosley DRAW, is it not a forgone conclusion that it'll be Pac/Mosley next?

I could see Mayweather getting "robbed" in a fight he should've won and only getting the DRAW and then he gets owned hardcore when Mosley moves on to Pac.

 

Then you must not respect Pacquiao, with his $10 million per pound fines and 8oz glove sizes.

 

and if Pac beats Shane in a bloody fight, Mayweather will have no leverage at all. He'll have to fight Pac or be a straight up ***** regardless of anything.

When Mayweather/Pac fell apart the top five welters were Pac, Floyd, Shane,Cotto and Clottey.

So Pac moved on and fought the best welter available (Berto and Shane was upcoming), Clottey.

Big Welter, Never clearly defeated. And he utterly dominated him.



Floyd was looking at Ricky's brother and Malinaggi.

The ONLY reason he wound up with Shane (very reluctantly, did you watch his encounter with Shane following the fight with little JMM?) was beacause Berto canceled the Mosley fight after the earthquake.
