There is a poster here that talks to some of the Mundine camp. It sounds like they have made serious big money offers but they want the fight in Australia and that ain't gonna happen. Arum said he has had offers to have Kelly fight in Dubia. I think that would be good neutral turf for that fight. Kelly is a genuine home body though from what I hear and likes having his fans be able to attend fights.
Hermit, if Pavlik can't get Williams to fight and plans on going to super middleweight, then by the fall of 2010, shouldn't he slowly get settled at 168, getting at ease fighting at 168 with a few legit but easier fights than the top guys at the weight, rather than just fight meaningless mandatories at 160 ?
Not my decision, but there was an interesting post in another thread. jsimps is in a position to know:
That quote makes me think he should move out of 160 sooner than later... I wouldn't waste anymore time at 160 if he's building muscle now to move up... He could easily get into the weight properly fighting tune ups with guys like Brinkley and Ornelas for instance, and then he could take on the better names for meaningful fights. 2011 to make the move is just wasting time... After Martinez, he should right away get his body ready for fighting at 168.
I still think how soon Kelly does or doesn't move up depends on whether or not the Williams fight goes through. If it's still negative on that front, then I could see him moving up and setting himself up at 168 in 2011. If lightning strikes and a Williams fight can be made, that's what we'll see. Personally, I put about a 35-40% chance of this happening based on nothing more than my read of the situation.
Kell's in Florida and his weight is down under 180. This content is protected On your toes Champ... On your toes.
You see the utube of Loew saying they might use Bute to 'test the waters' at 168? Bute as a tuneup? :think
I found the utub videos looking for presser photos. Where did you find that one? Or did I just look to early?
