It was a tought situation for Manny. He did what he had to do. However, some of the luster comes off when you fight a guy that everyone expects you to beat and then that guy shows up and doesn't even try to win. Clottey seemed way too happy just be there and then didn't even compete. I can't blame Manny for that, he did his job. However, it's hard to get excited about this fight all things considered.

I understand what you're saying. I to was disappointed not with Pac performance but with Clottey's. It kinda reminded me when Kevin Johnson took on Vitali and never even tried to engage but just survive.

The fact that clottey was so far behind on the scorecard and his corner constantly asking him to dig deep for just one round, you would have thought that clottey would have at least tried to press the fight. But he didn't even try.

yes i agree, but why are so many people claiming that Clottey was paid to lose? which i think is ridiculous. It just seems that after every Pac fight there are people ready and waiting for any opportunity to take something off his win and the excuses for those wins are only becoming more and more ridiculous as Pacquiao continues to beat one fighter after the other.:deal

Josh just fell victim to his style......coupled with Manny being very agressive and also elusive Josh was caught between a rock and some hard punches. Anytime Josh did open up PAC was ready to counter with a hook over the jab. Josh couldn't find openings and the ones he did were met with counters. He had very little success b/c he never was confident enough like he has been in the past with exploding from the guard with stiff offense. Manny just didn't give him the chance. Josh tried....but the level in class was apparent.

clottey did exactly what he's been criticized for in all his fights x10 and that is....NOT THROW PUNCHES!!!!

BUT HE LANDED THE CLEANER SHOTS WHEN HE DID THROW!!

PAC BEAT HIM NO EXCUSES.........IM JUST SAYING ITS NO SURPRISE

There really aren't many people making this claim. Most people are simply critical of Clottey for not competing.

Once Pac beats Floyd: "Floyd is old."
    "Floyd is shot."
"He took 2 years off." (Even though he already had 2 fights)
"He sold his soul for his abilities."
"They counted to 10 too fast."
"He wasn't knocked down, he was just taking a quick nap."

I've seen numerous people saying this already and see more people agreeing with people about this. The further from the fight it goes the more and more im seeing this said. there's three threads alone as i'm writing this with threads saying that Clottey was paid off.

I've seen plenty of people saying that Clottey didn't come to win and doesn't deserve his purse. I don't see many people claiming he was actually paid to tank the fight. Maybe you should start a poll.

More and more people are starting to say this. I think its just people hating to be honest and am not even sure if they really believe this themselves or are just saying it to put Pac down.

Only two of those threads claimed that Clottey threw the fight, and most people dissagreed with the TS in both threads. Let's be real here, this is boxing. It's not like no one has ever taken a dive before. It's not absurd for someone to suggest it. However, most on here don't think that's what happened on Saturday.

This forum is full of trolls. I'm not entirely convinced that we're not all just trolls, trolling each other.
