Oscar Deloya MUST fight again! He is still young enough to make a final attempt at winning some big ones before he rides off into the sunset. I believe he over trained against Pacman. This explains why he was unable to get his punches off. I do not think he will end the sport like this. Your thoughts?
No way... Oscar is done... He was being beaten up by his sparring partners leading up to the Pac fight. He is perfectly content riding around in his private jet eating junk food, he knows he had his day, and is happy to be a promoter.
your first post and you waste it on something like this? have you seen his last few fights? hes done. hes too rich and now too lazy to train. and he just got his ass kicked by a former flyweight.....its over johnny...its over :hey
that would be cool... at a normal comfortable weight. he should gatekeep for possible goldenboy promotion. valero can be goldenboy south america
As I stated previously, I believe he over trained against Pac. Sure, he is no longer the fighter who beat Tito and Vargas, but surely he is still good enough to compete. What kind of shape is Oscar in these days? Is he over weight?
I have wondered if he could end it the way he did, with his enormous ego. I still think he might come back if a truly weak title holder comes in at 154 or even 160. But there'd have to be a title on the line to tempt him back and he'd probably have to hear something from the inside about the titleholder in question being particularly vulnerable. The conditions would have to be right, is all I'm saying. Or a shot former foe...Trinidad perhaps. I can see that.
it's gotta suck to spend that time with a trainer and then have him train your opponent and just know your game plan totally...and with the weakened state and age..
Oscar vs Tito 2 would be fantastic for his first big fight after a one or two warm ups. He can finish unresolved business and be the star in a mega fight doing so. This will be the fight that lets everyone know that Oscar is BACK. Then he can move on to bigger fish.
he aint all about the money... he loved the sport. I enjoyed his career. lot's of people hated him like he was the dude that ****ed thier girl
