in respect to duran, i would rank him in the top 5 had he retired after his LW career.

His losses to benitez, hearns and No Mas are just too much for him to be top 8 ATG

what else could Freddie say? he knows Duran fans accept his excuses even though he lost to all the greats. he wants people to support his fighter and the ppv!

And Duran was post-prime when he was fighting the likes of Leonard, Hearns, Hagler.

Actually the unusual thing with Duran is that he had his peak performance against Leonard in the first fight, then parties like there is no tomorrow for weeks afterward, and was dumb enough to rush into a rematch with Leonard, enters weight drained and understandably gets schooled by a primed Leonard.

Then in a moment of frustration at his own stupidity for ****ing up his preparation for that rematch fight, does "No Mas" and pretty much mentally retires from boxing after that(even if his body enters the ring), has an atrocious run for the next 2 years before he regroups against Cuevas and Davey Moore.

After a noble loss to Hagler, what else is there in the sport for him to do, so he goes mentally walkabout again and is stupid enough to fight Hearns in that state.

Roach is the same guy that when he was training Toney, he said Toney is top 10 all time great heavyweight fighter. <<<If he was supporting Toney for that then why not with Pacquiao?

you are saying manny isnt good yet he won all those fights and Duran is great because he beat hearns and benitez and hagler? no he lost to them all and Benitez made duran lose and wilfred didnt even move he just sat in one spot and Duran looked like a fool and hearns knocked duran out cold. so you are saying a guy who loses to legends is better than a guy who beats legends? good logic. the duran fans come through again with good logic. almost as good as duran having an excuse for no mas. my tummy hurt!!! take some pepto bismol and go out for round 9!

Duran would slaughter those 3. 1 victory over Leaonard tops them. I'm not so sure Pac beats Ray, or Duran for that matter

When Pac is done his resume may look better than Duran's but let's not ignore the fact that Duran fought in a much tougher era, please
