Top 5 Light Flyweight rankings

I meant to say by the same token. Bad choice of words. In my opinion, Gonzalez's edge in the three fight series makes up considerable ground on Carbajal, although not enough to overtake him, imo. It's kind of a Saddler-Pep dynamic, with one fighter gaining the edge head-to-head, but the other having a better resume. Again, depends on what you like.

I feel that Gushiken edges Gonzalez but it's actually debatable. Gonzalez had a good resume in his era and of course got the better of that great series, and was on course to take the trilogy if not for Carbajal's great composite punching (not that that actually factors in Gonzalez' favour). I do however rate Gushiken better head to head and think he would beat both of them, though i can't have that put him above Carbajal, i do think he had some longevity as a top ranked fighter (titlist) to get him in here. Maybe that's flawed though?

Calderon could definitely make the cut in time with the right fights, this has been a great division for some time now.

 

Is "well worked" a euphemism for "blatant robbery"?

If you want to see a real victory over Chang, see the second German Torres fight.

 

In terms of h2h ability? or resume/dominance/longevity? or a combo of these things?

Ok, taking away h2h ability, and solely focusing on resume, dominance, longevity and character (the criteria I used recently to compile my p4p list), with resume being 45% of the equation, dominance being 35% of the equation, longevity being 10% of the equation and character being 10% of the equation, I would rank the top 5 at 108 in the following way:

1. Jung Koo Chang
2. Myung Woo Yuh
3. Yoko Gushiken
4. Hilario Zapata
5. Humberto Gonzalez

I think Woo and Gushiken are pretty close to interchangeable. Some might find that a bit hard to swallow, but really, I haven't seen a fight of Yuh's that I thought he lost (I haven't seen the Ioka fights mind you, which I mean to watch), which makes his record pretty impressive.

If I added h2h ability that makes things a bit more complicated.

 

1. Michael Carbajal
2. Humberto Gonzales
3. Jung Koo Chang
4. Hilario Zapata
5. Myung-Woo Yuh

 

It threw me off he didnt have Yuh as number 1

Where is Paul Weir on these lists?

 

Just curious, where do you all think Kenshiro Teraji ranks all time as a light flyweight? Top 10? Top 5?

PS: I think Teraji is pretty damn good for dominating the division for many years and defeating top level competition like Kyoguchi and Buddler but need help with the ranking lol.
