people who say Duran would stop Manny do not realize that it would be the first time he ever stopped a great fighter. It is amazing to think!!

none, but there are a few that went on to be rated.

Now, was there a former Fly champ to be rated at 130 above?

Yey they were right you are an obvious troll. You and Ricky Hattons family are probably the only ones who believe that, in fact they probably even know that Hatton was not as good as Buchanan.

Its obvious you have no knowledge of any fighters pre 2005.

I think alot of people only know Durans era and his resume- from his battles with Leonard , Hearns and Hagler . They don t know that his greatest conquests were at 135- where he was an absolute monster.

Duran is one of the greatest- top 10 easy - fighters of all time.

Manny right now- should he retire tomorrow- is around top 25. depending on what he does in the next two fights- he ll be top 15 or top 40.

I think in order for him to pass duran, he needs to beat the other top welters first of all- Shane and Floyd.

we re talking two amazing fighters here- but one s legacy , and hands, are set in stone. the others?? still up for grabs.

so Manny has to beat 2 more greats out of the 3 or 4 he has beaten already, and Duran only beat one, who beat him easily in the rematch? Oh that makes sense. Good logic.

that fact is amazing. Duran never knocked out an all time great fighter. Exactly so much for the big dominant puncher.

you guys wouldnt have said that before Hatton was beaten by Mayweather. But now it makes sense to make Duran better.

    Marcel
    Buchanan
    Dejesus
    Cuevas

Oh thats right these guys were really bums:patsch
Besides Manny has only beaten 2 greats compared to Durans 6.

Dont count Marquez cause Manny really lost those fights, and the 2 he did beat were past their primes. Delahoya dont count he was a zombie.

yes it does- because as great as the 3 or 4 he has beaten- NONE of them were cosidered pound for pound champion in or around the same weight class that he campaigned at.

Duran did beat the man considered the pound for pound best in or around the weight class he campaigned at.

you re a ****ing idiot- dont allow emotion to get in the way of logic. im not going to waste too much more time talking to you about this- i might as well go talk to my dog about it.

the best fighter of those 4 was Cuevas, and that might be the best guy he ever knocked out, but that was years after Pipino was any good.

Some posts on this thread are damn right embarasssing. Especially from you, PernellSweetPea. You can't be serious with this next quote.

I actually rate Roberto Duran's victory over Iran Barkley practically better than anything on Manny's resume with the exception of Marco Antonio Barrera. I hear the same thing, again and again, about how Iran was not a great fighter and therefore it can't be considered a great victory. Look, Roberto Duran was a 37 year old former lightweight campaigning at Middleweight, taking on a 6'1 Middleweight sporting a 74cm reach who had knocked out Hearns. Duran had no business at all winning that fight or even seeing the distance, but instead he beats him up, wobbles him in the first round, and knocks him down late on to secure, in my mind, a handy victory.

I can tell you right now, Manny Pacquiao won't be doing no such thing to Kelly Pavlik, and he most likely will be in a retirement home when he turns 37.

Roberto Duran moving up to beat up Sugar Ray Leonard at 147lbs is far and away better than anything on Manny Pacquiao's resume.
