If he does that, the WBA should strip him since they agreed to support the Super Six to the end, Showtime ban him from it's screen for f*king up the tournament that made him popular and a world champion, and of course there are the Super Six contracts and the lawyers of other promoters, so in the end, BALCO's Victor Conte might fall back to the 2nd place on the list of Team Ward's most outrageous decisions.

Man, he ain't gonna win boxing fans hearts with this carry on (if true.) What a ****. Making a mockery of the first great tournament in ages where the best can't duck each other. If true, Ward can go **** himself, I'll never pay a penny that will end up in his pocket.

Do you honetsly believe that a television network the size of Showtime didn't employ a huge commercial law firm to draft these contracts. You can guarantee there is contractual requirements and limits on who have to fight before the rights under the contract are waivered. He can't leave and fight someone else...there will be legal checks in place.

I'd be shocked if Ward did this. If you add this to the comments he made about all his fights being in the US, headbutting Kessler (when he was winning easily! Seriously why the **** did he do that?) then he'll come across as a **** of the highest order and be dispised for the remainder of his career. So I think the press are making a bit of an assumption here based on his previous actions.

Well if his fiendish master plan is to become the most unpopular fighter since Margarito.....:think

This must be the silliest rumour I've heard in a long time.

There are almost no business/PR benefits for Ward to leave the tournament, especially now that he is favourite. On the other hand, the penalties of breaking the contract with Showtime must be huge, and a big PR backlash would follow from the fans.

Saying that, Ward was Kessler's mandatory challenger, he beat him fair and square and now he holds the belt, so as far as I am concerned, he can defend it against whomever he pleases in a voluntary defence next.

Screw Showtime! They left Bute, Andrade and Bika out of the Championship. Super Six my ass.

Obviously... but I'm afraid the injury excuse could be a way out. They only have to get a doctor to say he'll be out of the ring for several months, and that'll create huge pressure on Showtime to replace him. You can't blame Taylor for pulling out or Dirrell for postponing, these are serious fights. But to excuse your way out with the title to... let's say fight on HBO (one could easily imagine HBO offering HUGE money to get him off the rival TV's tournament), now that would be utterly disgusting.

I really hope this isn't true. All the respect I gained for Ward when he entered the tournament, then undressed Kessler, would vanish.

I'd like to think Showtime have him locked-in to this contractually, so that even if he wanted to drop out, it wouldn't be worth his while.

Until proven otherwise, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he wouldn't **** Showtime, the other guys in the Super 6 and the fans, by being such a *****.

Until this is officially announced I call bullsh*t. If it turns out to be true I'll never watch Ward fight again.
