Lebron also won Rookie of the Year and Kobe didn't. The circumstances were/are simply different. Doesn't make the comparison less viable.
Interesting comparison. Nobody could tell whose the best based on paper/stat alone until they play 1 on 1
I think the fact Kobe is more finesse (Mayweather) and LeBron is more explosive (Pacquiao) is a worthy comparison but after that it just doesn't work that well. Pacquiao and Mayweather are both proven winners. With LeBron and Kobe, there's only one proven winner.
Rings are whats important, how many does Kobe have? How many does LeBron have? yeah, thought so.
Lebron technically sound? you mean his ray allen-esque jump shot... that he fades away EVERYTIME or maybe his TERRIFIC ability to score out of the triple threat like Carmelo (sarcasm) come on now... lebron is just a big ass athletic freak and his knowledge of the sport allows him to do what he does... he is not technically sound... kobe, melo, ray allen, rip hamilton, chauncey are guys who are technically sound I didn't leave them out on purpose.... I just didn't think of them at the time yeah I just didn't think to write it at that second... didn't leave it out on purpose another good extra piece i didn't think of
But how does the 'proven winner' part play into the equation? The comparison is more about the attributes of these two guys. What they have done with thier teams is irrelevant... Basketball is a team sport Boxing is not. If they played one on one what would happen? That's probably the more workable way to look at it.
in that case Robert Horry in a ATG and better then kobe.... the comparison was about skills.....no rings.......lebron as a player, is better then kobe
That is an attribute. Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Kobe are all proven winners in my eyes. Whether it's being a winner at a team sport or not is irrelevant. I was simply stating that after the explosive and finesse part, there's not much really to compare other than that they are arguably the two best in the sport.
so because he doesnt have a jump shot like Ray Allen, the second best in anything related to 3 pointers, or a triple threat like Carmelo he isnt technically sound??? lol...Has Point guard handles,Point guard court vision,a good shooting ability, speed of a guard, strenth of a center, and can finish at the basket with either a monster dunk or a finess lay up, or pass it to the open man.. averages 30 points 8 assists and 8 rebounds....yet hes not technically sound??? lmfaooo....wow bro..just wow
Nice analogy. Not to be taken too serious but I can see were you were going with this. Up until this year I would rather have Kobe than Lebron taking the last shot to win the game. This year it appears Kobe's legs are starting to go and it probally is the changing of the guard. Lebron is now in his prime and has not yet peaked. Kobe I think will start a slow decline. I can get with the Floyd=Kobe. But pac is more like Rondo. Great at what he does but still has some serious flaws that can be exploited in crunch time.
Maybe he would have a jump shot like Ray Allen if you let go of his nuts anyway take it easy bud, this ain't a basketball forum. It was just a silly/funny analogy to start with, not be taken too seriously.
