I think floyd knocks him late too...manny was dominating over a stationary opponent...but when he came in he was careless at times...floyd nor mosley is not clottey and both would have a field day with counter right hands..floyd knocks him late..mosley knocks him mid rounds

I can't believe I'm going to agree with you, Nallege. But, here goes. As crazy as it sounds, I think Floyd has a good enough chance to kayo Pacquiao. And no, I'm not being sarcastic. The fact is that Floyd "couldn't" kayo JMM? That might be a rebuttal. But I'm familiar enough with Floyd to know that Floyd takes the easy route to victory. He knocks you out for two reasons. It's either A. Easy or B. Necessary or seemingly less dangerous than a distance fight. With Marquez, it wasn't easy, so he didn't bother. And it wasn't necessary because Marquez was simply not capable of forcing Floyd to fight or be brutalized. Pacquiao is possibly capable of forcing Floyd to use his whole offensive arsenal. Maybe more capable of doing that than anyone else at 147. That could be his downfall. If he can get Floyd into a position where he can't get away or pot shot to victory, but must use everything he's capable of and go into a fire fight, I think he's capable of stopping Pac-man. But since he's not a squared up fighter, I have trouble seeing Pacquiao consistently putting Floyd in that place.

Cotto has more punching power than Mayweather at welterweight and he caught Pac with really good punches, Pac took them and kept coming. He even landed his trademark hook and Pac took it very well, I thought that hook would at least rock Pacman if it lands he took it and responded with a combination of his own immediately.

Clottey might not be Floyd or Mosley but Cotto beat Mosley and Floyd had trouble with DLH and both were destroyed by Pac. It's funny you mention Clottey and completely ignore the last two he fought at that weight as well.

We will find certain things out in the ring. For one thing though, using the Hatton fight as a gauge doesn't take you very far. Hatton was not as explosive and awkward as Manny and had even less head movement. It got even worse the more frustrated he got with Floyd until he was literally lunging into shots which meant his undoing. Then in his fight with Pac he was so intent on imposing his will that he totally forgot defense and it meant an early night. Plus Luis Collazo and then later Juan Lazcano proved you didn't need heavy hands to hurt Ricky at that stage of his career....you just needed to tag him flush which is what his style/tendancies allowed you to do.

Pac on the other hand has absorbed flush shots from Cotto and took them well. Floyd simply does not punch as hard as Cotto and has to make up for that with many more flush accurate connects...which means landing speedy combinations...something he has not done in a long time(unless he has a Gatti style target) and is not his nature. Pac is very dynamic and punches in a flow of explosive clusters with tough to time movement. Pac has never fought a style like Floyd's but Floyd has never fought ANYTHING like Pac. Please do not bring up Judah because Zab's style is completely different and mentally is not as determined as Pac(Zab would have folded in fights that Pac had like Morales 1 and both Marquez fights) He lacks the fire needed to hang in there when things get less than favorable.

This fight won't be easy for either fighter because Floyd is gonna thread the needle with accurate shots and catch Manny frequently. However here's the deal that makes Manny like no other opponent Floyd has ever faced: he'll return blistering fire and track Floyd better than he thinks and stay on him. Floyd will be taken out of his comfort zone and forced to exchange with a fighter who specializes in attacking like a machine gun that throws from all sorts of non text-book unpredictable angles(abit of Aaron Pryor stuff there) For however long this fight lasts it's gonna be Pryor-Arguello-esque with vicious exchanges when the action touches off. No matter the outcome, we the fans all will win.

I think Floyd's very accurate clean counter punching is very dangerous against a come forward fighter like Manny.

Floyd may not have the power of Mosley, but often Floyd catches fighters when they don't see it coming, backing up while they are coming forward... That is what makes his punches effective.

:deal Punching sharp and smart over brute strength. It seems like people can't understand how a fighter can get knocked out by someone thought to have less brute strength than a fighter they've already beaten. But it happens plenty.

A late KO of Pac would not surprise me, but I would bet on a UD for Mayweather. I don't expect Pac would win this fight, but that is also not the first time I have said that either.

Cotto is not stronger than Floyd, and nor does he punch harder than Floyd with either hand...

Floyd wouldn't dare go for a knockout on someone that could hurt him. Put your paycheck on that.
