Ok, this is the last time I am responding to this same exact statement. Just because Hamed wasn't acting like a model Muslim does not in any way give Lampley or anyone else the right to say anything negative about someone's religion. If one person does something wrong, does that then give us the right to say something offensive to every person who has the same beliefs? Two wrongs don't make a right.

I have stated several times that I like Jim Lampley and I don't think he meant anything by it. I think his attack was directed towards Hamed only. It was just in poor taste. I am not trying to hang Lampley. He and Merchant are my favorites. I am a Muslim and I am not offended to the point that people are making it out. I just speak the truth and the truth is, people's religion should be left out of conversation when the conversation is negative. Lampley was using Hamed's behavior to use his comments against him when he was losing. It just so happens that what Lampley was mentioning was very personal to a lot of people, not just Hamed. A lot of people here just can't understand how someone could be offended. Well, if a christian were fighting and the same comment was made, there would be an outcry. Not only George Foreman, but many people would be angry.

What you're saying is that Lampley implying that Allah wanted Hamed to lose is a slight against all Muslims and that Hamed = every Muslim person, which is absurd. You're contradicting yourself.

He wasn't making some sweeping generalization against all Muslims, he was simply following Hamed's foolish logic that he had won fights because it was Allah's will which would obviously mean that it was Allah's will for him to lose, using Hamed's mindset.

Hamed losing 1 boxing match does not equal anything negative in regards to Islam, or any other Muslim person like you're trying to imply.

I contradicted myself in no way, shape or form. The mere mentioning the religion in a sarcastic way is personal and offensive. Just because you aren't capable of understanding that doesn't mean there was a contradiction. Just look at the stuff that you highlighted. Where is the contradiction? Exactly.

I never made claim that Lampley made some "sweeping generalization against all Muslims". This is an invention by you. This also has nothing to do with Hamed. I am not even a big fan of him. The comment Lampley made was about Hamed, but the mistake that was made had nothing to do with Hamed. The mistake was Lampley being sarcastic in his saying "Naseem Hamed said that if he loses this fight it is written by Allah. So far this fight suggests that Allah can spell Barrera: B-A-R-R-E-R-A." Of course Allah can spell Barrera. You mean to tell me Lampley wasn't being sarcastic? So it is ok then to you for a professional commentator to be sarcastic about someone's religious beliefs? You and I will just have to disagree on that one then.

Not only did Hamed rabbit on like a fool about Islam all the time, I saw in one of this fights in the USA, he asked if he could read out some stupid arse speech in Arabic(to show how deeply religious he was) immediately before the fight, and whoever runs the show was stupid enough to allow that.

I don't need this kind of religious **** being thrown in my face by Muslims or Jesus Freaks.

Lampley's words were an expression of frustration at how Hamed the ****wit wanted to big himself up over his religion, and how we were meant to suffer through it.

    Well **** you Hamed.

As for Lampley getting "sacked" if he said this in the U.K......well, in this case, thank goodness I live in the U.S.(and I don't say this often).

Europe is backing down way too much to their Islamic population. In fact, you could say they are afraid of them.

But I guess I would back down too if I had widespread riots over a comic strip.

Hell, i've seen Jesus fighting the Devil on South Park, and the only people who get in a huff about it are
Southern Baptists, and all they do is moan and cry or have a protest. Nothing...scary.

Not really. Christ is supposed to be one of their most revered prophets but when you talk about Muhammad or Allah which is God then they flip their ****.

That's your opinion, not a legitimate blanket rule for the behavior of others. I'm frequently offended by Allah and Jesus freaks — and my opinion is just as valid as yours.

The mistake you and other religious nuts of all flavors make is that somehow religious opinion should be exalted above other nutty opinions.

In other words, your belief in Allah is no different in my mind from people who believe in Scientology, or people who believe that the person on the TV is speaking to them in secret code. It's all insanity and not worthy of my respect.

But I'd have no issue with Islamic insanity or Christian insanity if you zealots would keep your religion outside the public sphere. But you can't do that.

You deny gay rights based on your religion, and you attempt to suppress basic freedom of expression because of your religion, among many other infractions.

So I'm fighting back. **** Islam and **** Christianity, too. If you don't want me to talk about it, stop ruining the countries you influence and control — here, please feel free to list the litany of successful Islamic republics — stop denying equality, stop trying to impose your beliefs on others or, best of all, simply shut the **** up.

    Thanks.

For me, the only point that really needs addressing is DO I WANT TO LISTEN TO IDIOTS LIKE LAMPLEY WHEN I PAY TO SEE A FIGHT ?

The answer is NO, but unfortunately I have to. And it pisses me off.
I like to have the sound on for the sound of the punches and the fighters, the crowd and corner - which all give the sense of what's going on - but I dont need these idiots telling me what's going on and making smart-ass or ******ed comments.

I think there should be an option on the remote control for whether or not you want to listen to their drivel.

The only real offense Lampley causes is that he talks while I'm trying to watch the fight.
