Medgoen Singsurat and Erik Morales think otherwise.

    This.

    But the gap is closing.

And a win over Mayweather will put him right next to Duran.

He lost his title in the weighing scales. Morales fights are not title fights

I'm getting sick of the Duran/Pacquiao threads.

If he beats Mayweather and Mosley then crown his ass as a better fighter but Roach himself said Duran is the greatest lightweight ever and would beat Pacquiao.

Roach says alot of things, you shouldn't hold everything he says as truth.

that being said, yea I think Duran would beat Pacquiao. Pacquiao gives him hell though.

If anyone has confience in Pacquiao it is Roach. He knows Manny better than anyone. Yet he still thinks his fighter would have lost.

It would have been a classic but Duran would have mauled him on the inside. UD for Duran

Duran was knocking out Middleweights ... of course it's Duran ... but that's not to say that Pacquiao couldn't out box him.

Pacman has speed. I do not know if it would be that easy. Duran had trouble with speed and Pacman has top level speed.

No way in hell it would be easy. Duran would have had to be focused mentally and physically.

I am just saying I am not sure Duran has this one in the bag. Pacman does slug a little but he has unique angles on his punches which would befuddle Duran. Ray tried to slug with Duran punch for punch, but Pacman would be throwing fast punches from different angles. I am just saying Duran never dealt with speed well from the legends like Hearns or Benitez and Pacman is fast. If Duran could engage Pacman in a brawl and Pacman was trading and getting hit then yet Pacman would be in for a long night and would probably lose, but if he used his speed to land and not get hit then Pacman would win a decision.

Duran was far from his peak in both those fights, and if he could live with SRL's speed in their Montreal fight, he won't be troubled too much by Pac's speed.
Duran's straight right was one of the best in the history of boxing, plus his body work would kill Pac over 12 rounds(not that it goes the distance)
