maybe but that was the whole reason why kelly fought lockett. joe calls kelly out repeatedly...including a prepared statement after the taylor fight calling him out for a fight...actually the ESB frontpage article says he "invited" pavlik up for a real fight. so kelly smacks his stablemate around, asks the crowd afterwards if they want to see him fight joe. all of this a build up to a calzaghe fight. that much isnt up for debate either. then joe goes off and fights rjj.

and kelly is left catching **** for taking the lockett fight when this was the plan.

he has many more fights above ww than he does under it and he fought williams at mw. and i agree, kelly should knock him out.

You really are getting worse and worse. His last fight was at middle and he was negotiating a rematch with Williams at middle. Seems that is the weight he wants to fight at now.

Sergio--Typical Southpaw who has trouble with straight rights.

    Pavlik--LOves throwing straight punishing rights.:vonnecunt

I wonder what the outcome will be? :think

    Give it up Doobie!:nono

The Calzombies will never admit that Slappy Joe ran like a frightened school girl, and hid behind Roy's corpse! On the other hand, if ya want to have some real fun, there is a video on You Tube where Slappy calls Kelly out, AND, calls Roy a shot fighter in the same interview!!!

I had to set a Canadian straight that thought Bute easily beats Pavlik because he will outweigh him 18 to 20 pounds on fight night. I asked if Bute was going to come in at the heavy weight limit.......

Pavlik generally comes in the ring at around 170. Let's assume he adds some lean muscle when he moves up so he comes in around 175. Bute would have to enter the ring at 195 pounds:patsch

It was kind of twilight zone time knowing Kelly came into camp a 'solid 185'. I guess he thought..... ****, he just didn't think....

come on man, you want to spilt hairs? do you want to go that route? i used to give you some credit.
the guy has 47 fights.....almost ALL at 147 and 154

    fact
martinez has never beaten anyone at 154 that is a name or means anything

    fact
a guy (martinez) that fights above his weight does not make it a real middleweight fight...especially when the guy he fought isnt a god damn middleweight..... paul williams fought 90% as a welter and a few at 154 and 1 or 2 at 160.

point being the dude is not a middleweight, barley a decent junior middle, and shouldnt even be allowed to fight for any titles at middleweight considering hes never ****ing 1 a fight against a middleweight.
    now does that make sense?
so when pavlik knocks his small ass out....he will have accomplished something for koing a good fighter...but a good junior middle....cause the guy aint a damn middleweight

The ring has Paul Williams listed as #2 contender at MW and has Martinez rated as #1 at JMW. Many people feel that Sergio beat Paul Williams. More importantly, it is someone HBO wants. Like it or not, HBO is king maker in boxing in the states. It is what it is.

i like the fight, i like the match up. i think martinez is very good. but he hasnt beaten anyone... he prob did beat paul williams....paul willliams is from my home state, and as a real fan, i will say he more likely than not lost.
HBO likes it because its a cant miss action fight...no way it cannot be.
im just glad KP is staying busy, although it pains me to see how the sturm and abraham fights never came to be, no matter whos fault...boxing fans have lost some good match ups involving Pav. hell the 2 germans couldnt even manage to fight each other in a german superfight

..... As if Paul Williams is more complicated than Pavlik. Good one. Paul Williams utilizes more angles and moves more quickly, but his shot selection and rhythm are highly comparable. He jumps in with the same focus mitt drills over, and over, and over. Paul Williams is easily decodable, that's why he's gotten clowned by opponents with REAL boxing ability. Kelly Pavlik's style is based on consistency, pressure, and awesome power. He's better off than that shoe shine kid Williams, and their career trajectories will prove it. It will begin with this fight. You're in for a terrible shock, bud.

Other than weight, Kelly is looking to move up because there just are no good fights that can actually get inked. HBO blew it with Sturm. They were still pissed at Kelly for getting into the ring with Bhop in a fight he should have postponed. Kelly is staying at MW for one more year to try and fight Sturm and Williams. Barring that, he could move up sooner to take on Bute. Personally, no doubt in my mind Kelly wants the big fights. He knows he has lost momentum and is not trying to regain it.

I used to give Cintron a punches chance against Williams. He lacks heart but.......

Williams was buzzed by Martinez and actually took him a couple of rounds to really get that shaken off. Has Martinez started a crack in Williams' chin that Cintron can take advantage of? I'm down to 60/40 Paul in this fight right now. The longer it goes the better his chances. You did see Chef posted what we already knew? Cintron has no heart. In sparring he quits if the going gets rough. Kermit will suddenly have a hurt hand or some other excuse to stop. Chef said the kid has plenty of talent though so he may well get to Paul early enough.
