The 50 greatest fighters ever! Revised

Just out of curiousity, if you were to extend the list further, where would you put Marco Antonio Barrera? Unless of course you accidentally left him out of the Top 50. A good list by the way.

 

I agree that Holyfield is underrated by many infact i even rate him higher than you do. He was unbeateable at Cruiserweight and moved up to Heavy and became an ATG in a era of Super Heavys. Great accomplishment I rank him in my top 20 PFP ATG.

I disagree Sanchez tended to fight to the level of his competition. Ok i know boxing so dont take this comment out of context "Sanchez DOminated Gomez and 4 lbs makes a difference but not THAT MUCH! I could see if the fight was tight or Gomez hurt him and was fighting evenly before being stopped but SAnchez beat him easy.
Sanchez would have stepped up more so against Nelson that the first time knowing of Nelsons Reputation by now. Besides he stopped Nelson so dont act like this was so controversy or anything, Nelson was already one of those types that peaked early in his career.
You say Sanchez wasnt unbeateable? Well who beat him in his prime? He had a lost early in his career to Juan Escobar and thats it.

Are you forgetting about his dominating win over Danny Lopez? Danny Lopez was highly regarded at the time and every one had him as a top PFP guy and an ATG featherweight. IF you were a fan then you would know that(no pun intented dont mean that as a slight) just stating a fact.

He also walked through Lopez shots who is one of the biggest punchers in HIstory.

i like the list i would have hagler a lil higher marciano and ali just cause ali wsa atop of the deepest heavyweight division of all time the only real issue i have is jones jr i like to rate fighters in their 10 prime yrs cause most all fighters stick around too long and they peak at different times but at his best he was pitching shutouts and to quote his song people try to act like i didnt fight nobody i just madem look like nobody and what he did going up and completely dominate ruiz all be it ruiz wasnt a true champ he was a legit top ten heavyweight and he dominated him and fighters in the past tryd to do it and couldnt even come close and i like the mayweather spot but i do think has a chance to jump way up in the next couple of yrs all in all pretty good oh yeah oscar and tyson dont deserve consideration in top 50 top 100 maybe

 

Well i dont recall that:huh Gomez did good early but from my recollection Nelson was hammering Gomez for a few rounds before he stopped, gave him a beating at the end.
Do you really believe Gomez didnt train? I think that was BS, although he was the favorite Sanchez was still considered a threat and was already proven and with that big rivalry i dont see how Gomez didnt train.

You asked if i dont like GOmez? Well i like him (although he said some pretty disrespectful stuff to Sanchez) but overall i admire his work at JF and he left no doubt that he was the greatest JF of all time. However when you put him above Sanchez and On Par with Chavez(yesterday) i will Definetly debate you on that one. I remember Gomez not looking to great in many of his fights as he moved up, You talk of how Jones and ODLH lost their standing cause of later career moves but what about Gomez? Although at JF i rate Gomez above Barrera and Morales they sure were alot more effective than Gomez was at the Higher weights. Barrera started at JB and was a high ranked contender but was avoided so he jumped up 2 weight classes to JF and dominated (for a while) then jumped up 2 more and was the top man at JL for a while .:huh Also Barrera had some big wins himself and beat Morales 2 out of 3 and i rank him a hair above Morales. You mentioned Morales beating Jones well Jones was not the same one that beat Barrera,not that it would make a difference id still pick Morales, but like you said about styles(Sanchez -Gomez) Jones had a bad style for Barrera, although I thought Barrera deserved the 2nd fight.

Ok what im getting at is i think there is not much seperating Gomez,Barrera,Morales. Gomez greater JF than those 2 but Barrera,Morales had more longevity at the top and better resume in higher weights

 

Good list but Bob Fitzsimmons way too low.

 

Good list overall. My criticism is quite a bit, i don't know where to start. I will start by asking where is Aaron Pryor and what is Bhop doing in top 50, let alone that high.
