Interesting regarding the IBF purse bid for Bika vs Brinkley.

Interbox from Canada won the bid.

A purse bid was held in the IBF office today for the IBF super middleweight eliminator for #1 between Jesse Brinkley and Sakio Bika. InterBox Promotions was the winning bidder with a bid of $134,616. Star Boxing bid $111,000, and Golden Boy Promotions bid $102,000. InterBox has 90 days to put this fight on.

Yeah i think Bika can win no doubt....however Interbox have won the bid which leads us to believe it will happen in Canada out of all places.

Whoever wrote this in the Sakio thread a while ago was right on the money:

"Brinkley is now IBF #2 and Bika is #4.

With the #1 spot being vacant, it makes sense to do Brinkley v Bika with the winner getting that spot and becoming Bute's mandatory".

    should be a promoter :)

On the same date, Bute v Eric Lucas in a 10 rd super middle bout. Interbox are apparently keen to put this fight on the same card as Bika v Brinkley in order to get a US tv date - and it might mean on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

    Hope so.

Good to see Sark getting a decent fight, I hope he can get a roll on after this fight and notch up a few decent wins. He would have to be one of the most entertaing fighters in action

Because Showtime are attempting to raise the profile of their 168lbr's and set up their own Tourny imo , Bute , Pavlik , Mirandad , Bika , etc are all HBO and HBO ain't just going to stand back and applaude Showtimes effort mate . :good

and boxrec can be so trusted. you know i can be ash..

edit: ****, i realised my mistake. it's Eric Lucas v Librado andrade. Not Bute.

The winner of Sakio/Brinkley becomes Bute's mando. sorry...too many names for one post - i stuffed it up :)
