Yes, he did but overall his resume doesn´t stack up to the best of the row. Burley and Williams where the best with Bivins and Marshall beeing close. Both should be included in the Top50 before the Kid. I´d put Gavilan into the Top20 and Griffith Top30. I would include Floyd Patterson into the Top50. He basically was a lhw beating hws. Very good resume, great longevity, youngest hw champ, first two time hw champ. All at hw while being a natural lhw. That´s awesome.

Heavy American bias, because Calzaghe didn't fight Americans until later in his career. Who was he going to fight @ 160/168 that was worth his time? Chumpkins sure didn't make an effort to see Zags.
