i think if floyd stays away from the ropes and keeps throwing jabs, then he can stop pacquiao being as offensive as he usually is. like i said, clottey, hatton, cotto and de la hoya DIDNT give pacquiao any reason not to come forward. :think

When Clottey did open up, say to throw more than a single punch, Pacquiao was all over him throwing punches in bunches. I am sure he went there thinking he was going to at least push Pacquiao, but when he was in the ring he realised that he just didn't have the tools to do so.

Marquez was a lesser challenge than Clottey IMO.

Also, i think floyd is cautious: not the kinda fighter to follow something up, step into the danger zone and stop Pac.

there where plenty of times when clottey would throw a punch, go back into his shell and pacquiao wouldnt respond for at least a few seconds. this is a chance to follow up your punch and hit pacquiao again, but clottey didnt look interested!!

also, when was the last time clottey used his weight to push or maul his opponents? Pacquiao knew he wouldnt do this and roach even admitted that clottey always does the same thing in the ring.

fleaman, you didnt just say what i thought u said?! :patsch

marquez was a lesser challenge that clottey? are u feeling ok?

and you said that to beat pacquiao, you have to step into the danger zone and stop him?... like cotto and hatton tried you mean?

pacquiao is vulnerable to counterpunches, although not as much as he used to be, and he bases his fight on coming forward... floyd has all the tools to give pacquiao the most problems!!

On more than one occasion he had Pac backing up and looking awkward but never forced the issue...very disappointing :-(

in response to my post about pacquiao going down to LWW for his next fight, this post is taken from a thread on esb called...http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=212153

why isnt anyone saying that he is cherrypicking and he is ducking alexander and bradley? why arent they saying he is choosing marquez because it is a fight he cannot lose? one rule for pac and another rule for floyd huh? :huh

Not really, because Pac has already taken on a lot of Elite level challenges.

Valero is moving up to 140 so I guess he will fight there once as a springboard to fighting Pac at 147 or 145 (both Top Rank) and Pac will decimate the Venezualan inside a round.

Then again, if you think Maidana would be a better opponent than Clottey than surely Valero should suffice? Even though he'll get annihilated. And Alexander is not a viable opponent IMO

    so has floyd :huh

roach has said he wants valero or marquez next. he said pacs #1 contender right now is valero so ya think his next fight will be agasinst valero but at 147? :think

yes, valero is overrated imo, but he will prove a much better opponent than both clottey AND maidana.

alexander is a good, strong, fast counterpuncher. he will give pac problems... but yeah i think he would lose.

    .................

i must say fleaman, you seem more biased towards pac than i thought u were :hey

mayweather: CORALES, HATTON, CASTILLO, GATTI, DE LA HOYA, MARQUEZ, JUDAH, NDOU

pacquiao: MARQUEZ, BERRERA, HATTON, DE LA HOYA, COTTO, CLOTTEY, MORALES.

...slightly better resume from pac, but not much better.

If you want me to do a in-depth look into both of their records then I will. But honestly, Pac's is clearly better :good

Ones highlighted shouldn't be there IMO, for many intangible reasons that have been done to death before. There are also moree ?'s on Floyds opponents IMO

The fact you consider Ndou and Gatti Elite level opponents.....well, thats another discussion entirely mate
