Pac vs Clottey. What really happened and why it did

Clottey had no choice. You trade you get killed against pacman. Simple as that. I'm done explaining why but I'm glad clottey figured it out before the fight unlike the other opponents. As for the body shots. Yeah they were hard shots but most were partially blocked. Yeah he landed more to the body than head but that doesn't mean he landed alot. Even the fake punchstats didn't have him landing that many body shots LOL.

When Clottey landed it was clean and pushed Pac back many times, pushing him off balance and not being able to effectively punch back momentarily.. Clottey showed he could be effective against Pac. But chose not to fight. Which gains less respect the DLH Hatton and Cotto combined for me.

I don't know what your talkin about the bodyshots being blocked. I mean you could HEAR the sound effects of those punches to his stomach **** sounded like a heavybag

Here goes what happened for those who can't read between the lines and don't know what they are witnessing. To those who feel it was a set up or fix, It wasn't directly a set up but it was indirectly. Simple math is that people in the shell defense do not beat high punch output fighters (fighters who throw 85+ punches per round). Simple like 1+1=2. Arum and his people knew that so you can say it was a set up in that way. But to the fighters and camps it was fair game and clottey was trying to win as much as he could.

Clottey's gameplan was to throw when pacman stopped punching round by round. Every round manny takes small breaks and that's when clottey threw combinations. Pac doesn't punch for 3 minutes straight as some believe and would have you believe. When pac was on the offensive (most of the time between the small breaks), Clottey got in the shell and threw 1 punch at a time (straigh right) then got back in the shell, whenever he did counter.

Clottey couldn't trade with pac because he would have got hit alot. Using this gameplan kept him from getting hit. He knew this and during the fight he knew he wasn't being hit and was landing more clean punches with far less attempts. So I understand why he kept fighting like that. Still he should understand that alot of people can't tell the difference between punches landing and punches being blocked (fans, judges and punchstat operators included). IMO Clottey was expecting those pac to take breaks more frequently down the stretch. Didn't work out like that for him and he dam sure didn't put enough body work in for it to work on someone with pac's stanima.

Pac's gameplan IMO was to go to clottey's body to make him drop those arms and break the shell down, and also to attack the shell at angles to find the opening. I think manny and roach were shocked to see that manny couldn't landing anything threw the shell even when his lateral movement got manny to the side of clottey. Manny landed some vicious body shots and I feel he had clottey hurt a few times without manny realizing it. Clottey is only open on the side of the body because the massive arms block everything up the middle (elbows). So they went to thier back up plan which was to just throw a bunch of punches.

. I have seen many veterans win fights by punch attempts and not landing clean shots but I never thought I would see manny do it. Clottey landed more clean shots than manny in the fight but couldn't deal with the stanima and speed of manny. Clottey had no choice but to fight in that way because when manny gets into his bouncing in and out trading rhythm you can't dance with him at all. You have to step back, you just can't trade when he is in that rhythm because he is INVINCIBLE when he's doing that and clottey figured that out prefight.

Lastly Somebody needs to change or modify these punchstats. Seperate clean from grazing and partially blocked. I hate seeing some false ass misleading numbers that don't reflect the story of the fight. Manny didn't land 158 shots to clottey's face like the punchstats said. He might have landed 40 and hardly any of those were clean. If manny hit clottey 158 times (LOL), I would expect atleast a little bump on clottey's face. If those punchstats were true it would have shown manny landing easily less than 10% of his punches on clottey. I laugh when i hear this dominant talk also. Nothing was dominant in this fight. 1 guy looks like he got out the shower and one guy looks like he had been in a good fight. Call it what it was. 1 man throwing alot of punch attempts beating another who wouldn't punch enough. Don't call it dominant or an ass kicking because it certainly wasn't

And that fight was probably the most body shots Manny hit someone.:deal
