You'd be surprised the kind of retainer from sponsors/promoters the right fighter can be put on a year.

I do get what you are saying though. Personally, and maybe I'm old fashioned, I think if the main reason you are going to box is money then you should go pro.
I can see this idea falling to pieces in no time

Any amateur earning this sort of money would be mad turning pro with the uncertainty of a regular decent paycheck. Unless they're pretty special, why turn over?

So the pro game isn't doing the best at the minute but this off the wall, highly paid and totally unproven amateur scheme is a better option?
I don't see the basis for believing this. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. I certainly wouldn't have the faith in it being anywhere near as straightforward, sustainable or highly paid as is being mooted

I have been told by very good sources and himself that Davy Oliver has been asked to take part in the world series. Also paddy barnes was offered but rejected it. I think the boys also still get their funding from the sports council while they compete at the world series but I'm not 100% sure about that. Some serious mondosh coming in there if it's true

Andy should try fight him could get good credit from it, he has fought around europe before so might actually take it in Limerick unlike a lot of fighters who stick at home unless its a big fight also this fella is 5ft 8 so andy would hav a huge advantage

Hi guys, not posted on here in ages but great to see the thread going stronger than ever. Thats nit with 2 shows on the same night in May. We have only had one so far this year and now 2 on the same night, seems crazy to me.

Oh and as for the amateur thing i'm a bit skeptical about it. Haven't london already pulled out of it?
