Off the top of my head :

Worst: Oscar's corner for Trinidad, RJJ's for Calzaghe, zappavigna's vs angulo, diaz vs malignaggi 2, any fight involving "double the jab" jack loew

Best: mccracken for froch vs taylor, booth for haye vs mormeck/valuev, nazim richardson for bhop vs pavlik and mosley vs margarito

Fair play to them.... they did a really good job.

Granted I dislike the fact that Leonard waited until Hagler's legs had gone before fighting him.... but it still had to be won.

Shouting 30 as loud as he could worked a treat.

Contrast that to Petronelli's failure to snap Hagler out of his orthodox stance after the first round..... it's especially bad given how well they'd worked as a team previously.

I think I've got the wrong fight here..... wasn't there one where Ali was going to quit?

Is that the fight you are referring to?

That was Ali - Frazier III...Ali was supposedly considering quitting but Dundee persuaded him to continue, only for Frazier to quit on his stool. People who saw the fight swear that if they had come out for the 15th one of them would have suffered very serious physical damage

I think that they were both up for quitting...:yep

Ali said after the fight it is the closest to death he had ever been...:yep

It is great to read the views of many others and there are a few fights that I will be watching again on the strength of this thread...:good

Was it Morales' cornerman who asked them to pour water on his balls? If so, he gets my vote- a man's gotta keep his balls cool

Apart from the obvious, the worse has to have been Danny Williams against Vitali Klitschko.

Jim McDonnel was head-trainer and had some nutter screaming at Danny during every round break about how he was letting his family down!

I'm not referring to any fight in particular, but I think Floyd sr is very overrated as a trainer.

Roger I think is excellent, however.

McDonnell blew it by having Williams up at 19st, when he'd have been much better around 17st, more agile on his feet. Not that it would have made all that much difference, Klitschko was at his absolute peak and on a mission.

Who was Sprotts cornerman against Skelton?

"People have paid good money to come and watch this ****ing ****, now are you gonna ****ing do something" or words to that effect.

No sugar coating or beating about the bush, tell him how it is.

He was bloody right, it was an awful sodding fight.

paul ingle vs botile - i know it's a bit harsh to criticise after what happened. but he got such a bad beating. :patsch after what happened in rd 11 it should have been called off immediately.

tyson vs douglas - that was a shambles. :patsch from sticking that condom on his eye to whispering in his ear while he's sleepwalking thru the fight. :bart

hopkins vs taylor 1 & 2 - for just towing the party line and not telling him how f*cking lazy he was fighting. :patsch

That reminds me of Manny Steward telling Wlad Klitschko that things would be "really bad" if he didn't knock Ibragimov out after the 10th. At the time I thought Manny had lost his mind because Wladimir had 9 rounds in the bag and cruising, but this was Manny foreseeing the future of a true face and name to mainstream sponsorship from the top/down, much like Holmes enjoyed in the early to mid 80's.

i liked steward during the lewis-holyfield fight.

after rd 11 lewis gives it the fist pump after an average rd.

steward sits him down and reads him the riot act.

"i'm gonna give him the round cos u ain't doing ****" :yep
