Does he?! No idea. I've only seen this pic of him recently - from the General Forum: "David Haye's BACK!!!!!!" [] This content is protected http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=211771&highlight=haye+is+back He looks relatively chunky I guess.
He looked a bit slow when he was shadowboxing on the Sky report I saw... Hopefully he works that weight off.
Odd isn't it? Unless you look like a matchstick, you're fat and overweight nowadays. Not so very long ago, everyone wanted to be a beefcake ie rugby player type and the skinny were often mocked.
Looked abit fat compared to his other fights........... Still in better shape than most heavyweights, but he does look abit fat by his standards...
I think the concern is not whether he's 'fat', he's obviously not, but if he's a bit too heavy there is no way that could be advantageous for a fighter of his style. It is a slight worry every fight for me that they might over do it, but hopefully by the time he steps on the scales he'll be something similar to the Valuev fight.
Nobodys called him fat but he's undoutedbly carrying more weight than usual at this stage of training. As long as he hasnt slacked with training it doesnt really matter.
Yeah,i thought he looked a bit slow also. Sounds like his tactics are going to be standing his ground and relying on his power. I'd prefer if he was lighter, throwing combinations,in and out of range(basically outboxing him) then wear him down for a late stoppage. Similar to the valuev tactics but with a lot more leather thrown.
Well he was a Cruiser Weight and now he is a Heavy Weight, of course he doesn't and they show you what they like to see you see. Maybe it's just becoming clear he's not a natural heavy... He's a big bloke, no doubt, but I'm not sure he carries the weight that well (to his own standards).
First look at the floor you can see his shorts and boots he wore for the fight, then secondly look at the adverts behind him Golden Boy , Don King etc etc and the big German tv channel is a give away :good.
The weight he was for Valuev was perfect for a heavy if you ask me, needs to keep his speed as its his biggest weapon. He did look slow shadow boxing but when he was doing the pads he looked pretty quick and powerful.
He looked like a little guy running around the ring against Valuev to me. That was was freak of a fight though.
