Pac-Margarito isn't as easy as some are making it...

If Pac somehow is matched up with Margarito, I see it as a clear victory for him.

But I don't think it would be as easy as some are expecting. I know Shane took him to school, and in all likelihood cracked his granite chin. But I think Margarito has a better shot than any of Pac's recent opponents.

Although his footwork and speed are shite, he has the chin, punch output and stamina that all of these past opponents lacked. (Although he and Clottey are probably about equal with the chins) I think he will at least be able to trade with Manny and make him pay for any mistakes he may commit. He takes enough chances to make it a really interesting fight.

Still though, I think Manny outpoints him 9-3.

No, JMM was Pacs toughest challenge to date and fighting Floyd or Shane at 147 or JMM at 140 will be the toughest fights for Pac today

It will be interesting to see if Pac's body shots can hurt Margo.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much damage Mosley's body work did on Margo.

You are right those body punches were amazing but don't forget that he lost like 25pounds in the last 8 weeks coming to the fight that affected too

Nah NBA u are looking again at the Size of the Man and not at the Size of the Fight in the Man, there is a difference. Manny is ruthless, Margarito will get TKOed again as he will be beaten like he stole something.

The only style of fighter that can beat Manny is a fast counter puncher who will disrupt his relentless ryhthm.

And what, exactly, has Margarito done to earn a fight with Pacquiao?

A prime (i.e. plaster) Margarito could cause Pac a lot of problems, but after the way Shane annihilated him and his enforced inactivity he is unlikely to be a threat now. He is also extremely slow and would probably lose a wide decision, not unlike the Pac-Clottey fight.

Anyone saying it is an easy fight for pac is insane. This is one fight Pac could very well lose and might even get ktfo. Why do you think Floydie avoided him?

Manny is not that good when he is not going to the front, I might be wrong but I don't see him pushing Margo back, Margo is a beast taking punches and moving forward

Very good question, if you ask me.

But I'm not the one who decides he should fight Margarito. You have to ask Pac and his handlers, as it seems they are considering him as one of the possibilities.

As far as the Shane beatdown, I agree that it showed how slow Margo was. But in order to take advantage of the lack of speed, Shane had to absolutely dig in and load up on his power shots in order to really crack him.

naz is right about one thing w/ regards to shane...he can knock out a farm animal. and he hit margo at will all night and it still took a while to knock him over.

pac will still win, imo but NBA is right, this won't be a walk in the park. margo will let his hands go unlike clottey who was still finding pac whenever he got it in his mind to throw a punch or two.

Margacheato is trash. He's slow, plodding and has no skills or defense, and now that all those shots to the head seem to have caught up with him he's nothing. As long as Pac keeps moving Marg would be screwed.

Floyd didn't avoid anything. Floyd just didn't want to be a Top Rank fighter anymore which turned to be an extremely intelligent decision since he's been apart of some of the most lucrative fights in boxing history after he left Arum.

Stay focused. We're talking about Pac.

No one is talking about Mayweather.

Margo is JMW masquerading as a WW and has great work rate, relentless pressure and a great chin that was cracked by a far stronger puncher than Pac in Shane. I give Margo a better shot than Cotto or Clottey and would really like to see this fight.

Margo hasn't really done anything to merit a shot a Pac but that doesn't really matte. What does matter is that Margo is an Arum fighter and thus all money stays in house, he has a good Mexican following and would easily outsell Clottey-Pac and it could be held in Mexico City for all I care. Those are more important considerations than whether or not Margo "truly" deserves the shot.
