I'm actually watching Hopkins/Jones right now for the 100th time. Bernard fought a good fight but fighting someone that damn fast wasn't fair to anyone. Hopkins actually figured RJJ out from about Round 8 on in. Yes RJJ hurt his right hand, but Bernard was also a very inexperienced fighter back in '93.

Bernard's only problem was the speed of Roy. At least he didn't go out like my favorite fighter at that time "lights out" I've never been so embarrassed in my life. My guy lost to a guy wearing a tuxedo imitating chickens while putting in work (still shaking my head 16 years later)

I think the best lead rights this game has ever seen belongs to Jones although Ali's was maybe as good, I mean Roy's lead rights was like a bullet from a gun while Ali's was more so a boeing arrow both fast and painful either way.

So Roy's lead rights or Ali's? Gotta say I'm crazy but I'm not stupid I know The second I go on record and say that 2/3 of Ali's career was really working behind the jab, butterfly floating to the left, and shooting a powerhand right vs. a true lead right, then I'll get blasted with 20 hate posts showing the other third of his career where he surgically destroyed Liston, Patterson, Foreman with perfectly timed lead rights. 230lbs of a surgical genius, pick your poison on Off, and 3 years of his prime was stolen.

What would you say to Roy vs Ray Robinson at around Middle?

Let's catch this matchup at 164 for the sake of fantasy. This would have been the Roy right before he moved up 8 lbs and made James Toney look silly. I've got Roy fighting the GOAT very cautiously and probably sprinting it out by 3 or so rounds.

But I'm not even going to try and predict what Ray could've done to Roy with rounds 13 through 15 if we sanction it at a 15 round fight. I see Ray catching up to that video game speed and touching him with the right that turned LaMotta into SAW V.

i think roy would have beaten ray with ease however lamotta would have been a much harder fight could go either way,
